Yeah looks like he wanted a upgrade on his current $750k contract. Broncos said no so he wants a release. “He wants to get what he’s worth”

Probably going to cost you close to $1m. Unless you are the Roosters of course and get him for $750k

As much as I'd love haas, the money would be better spent thrown at Munster

Munster would have a far greater impact on our side than haas

All hypothetical of course
Completely agree. I think there would be enough unofficial conversations going on that internally we'd know if we were a chance for Munster or not though. If he has requested a release somewhere must be lined up you'd think.

I was happy with Fifita getting 850k at the time for his output. Hass is worth just as much or slightly more. Our attack was already humming at the beginning of the year, imagine playing off the back of Hass in our pack.

Will be interesting to see how the Broncos go without him. As much as the hype is about Reynolds and the backline right now, they are winning games by dominating the middle third.

Does anyone really think he's underpaid (apart from Haas and his manager)?
Not drastically, not enough to quit mid year over. Think Broncos offered him something like 5.5 over 6 years upgrade to current deal and extension which seems pretty reasonable.

Meanwhile supposedly Dolphins have only offered Matterson 1.5 across three seasons so Eels have got back into conversation with him

I think $800k is fair for Haas, premier front rower in the comp.

And $500k for Matto is great value

Who's getting Matto for $500k? Thought it was closer to $700k.
Nobody, heard that was what Dolphins have offered which encouraged Eels to get back into conversation. Up to four other clubs in talks with him also.

Salary cap will almost certainly going up with the new CBA.

Proportionally with the expected rise these contracts are the same…

2016 - $500k

2018 - $800k

2023 - $1m

If Fifita was worth $500k in 2016 and $800k in 2018, Haas is worth $1m in 2023.

Hass plays more minutes and does more work than our top 2 props combined. Means u can run an extra cheapy or 2 in the front row and get away with it.

Sure... assuming that the value of a prop to a team in NRL2016, is the same value as a prop to a team in NRL2023.
