why have the players been poor though? i understand sharpy isnt the one out there missing the tackles or dropping the ball, but he is the one who is doing nothing about it...

and it was evident with the team selection... what do you do when your star 5/8 goes down with an injury? easy, replace him with a back rower coming off a shoulder reconstruction

We all know why Sharpe is head coach even though he doesn't want to be. Money. He is the cheapest alternative and we don't have a lot.

It's **** and it would be really great if he could just try for the season but the players are going to have to improve their attitudes without getting pushed.

Its up to them now to decide what sort of season they want.

Surely Noddy wouldn't have been to expensive though .

People wouldn't have been happy if Holdsworth came in.

Penani, I'm not overly impressed with, and he didn't do that well against the bulldogs last time. Granted, he was playing in a severely depleted squad and shouldn't be crucified.

So, with those two options we probably would have still lost anyway and people would have bitched uncontrollably if Holdsworth played.

I'm really not a fan of makeshift halves, but it's not like we had a heap to work with.

regardless, the board set themselves up for failure on that

they backed flanno and agreed to pay him during his suspension

so that would have meant, paying a suspended coach, and paying noddy and sharpy

where as, they just have to pay sharpy

and you pay for what you get

good work isnt cheap, cheap work isnt good

Veteran players shouldnt be relying on coaches to make them perform better.

You even hear Gal say after injuries etc, i havent been training, ive played enough to know im right bla bla bla.

Same old story on our teams structure, thats been going on for years, but the problem with the players attitudes could be stemming from plenty of different avenues.

ASADA, i saw someone write, ASADA would only be affecting blokes if they had something to worry about. Thats ****ing bull****. These players are people. If you were accused of raping someone, but know you didnt, the accusation or speculation would still have a weight on you. Like Gal said, you get sledged, then you get called a drugo cheat infront of your infant children. How would some of these kids be? This goes beyond just the training or playing field. Their whole lives would be uncertain whether they have anything to worry about or not.

But thats only a partial excuse for a small number of our players.

Which is why our highest paid should stop being a baby and just start acting like a senior member of our team, he is 28 soon, and should be more confident in his game than he is.

Id rather an average ⅝ and a high quality half that will be doing the organising that can both kick and pass, than a great ⅝ that rids himself these responsibilities so he can just drift around looking for chances.
Carney thinks he and Robbo compliment each other, i think at times they cancel each other out. We need more than what Robbo can offer with the ball in his hand/on his foot if Carney is only going to play the role that he does

And if we bought in Noddy, or even someone like Bellamy, we would still have had a **** load of injuries and probably would have missed the 8 and wasted our money.

i agree, i think given the bad luck with injuries, and some silly suspensions, and given our depth is pretty well ****, we didnt stand a chance. No matter what

i would have rathered holdsworth at 5/8 to make it look like we wanted to create something, but yeh, i see your point

The coach won't change we know that and a lot of the mess is his fault 100% but only a hand full of players are really playing well but not all the time. We have not put 80 minutes together, that is usually a training thing you train with less intensity you play with less intensity.

Last night for periods there we dominated then we let them off the hook.

The players need to lift themselves while training push when it hurts pretend like someone is there riding them.

Or they don't and keep sucking.

you train how you play and you play how you train. Coaching 101. Seems Sharpie and the board didn't get that memo.

This is a perfect scenario for old mate Flanno as well. Now instead of coming back the drug cheat head coach, he comes back to try and be the saviour of the club that dragged them for the bottom of the ladder to wherever they finish next year.

He may have recruited a few good players, but he has ****ed this club like a $2 hooker all the while. People say the club is bigger than any one player, well I put to you that it is also bigger than one unproven head coach as well.

So youre calling him a drug cheat?

Youre saying he sought out a new party to the club to introduce a banned supplement system, tested them on himself, then used them on players under the supervision of the supplier, he then sacked the sports scientist for ****ing **** up.

Must know something that asada and the nrl didnt know

Yep I am calling him a drug cheat. He was the head coach at the time and should have known what was going into his players.

However if his " I no nothing" story is actually true, when he discovered what was happening, he should have approached the board and NRL to tell them what had happened. Instead he played the cover up game and got busted.

So did mooney and knoakes, our doping officer who is still running band aids out to our blokes.

Its his job to act, which imo he did. He did order **** to stop, and he sent dank packing. Maybe the seriousness wasnt so obvious at the time

yep and my stance at the time, and my stance currently is unchanged. They should all have gotten the arse, and they should never have anything to do with the club again. I am also a Bombers fan, and my opinion there is the same.
