Do you honestly believe Flanno is not coaching the team well you believe anything Sharpe is Flanno's go between if you all think Cronulla would have performed better if Flanno had not got a holiday you are dreaming
not the same yarra...a few instructions here and there but far, far from the same as having your coach here and like him or not, the boys do seem to rise to his motivation

see this is what pisses me off. This club is becoming more and more of a basket case and it begins at the top.

Why on earth do we have an assistant coach appointed to the club, who has no desire or interest in being a head coach. He practically cried at the media conference where he was named head coach in Flanno's absence. This is a huge red flag for me.

Take the Warriors for example. Sacked head coach, and McFaddon was chomping at the bit to get given a shot to show what he has got.

How on earth do you expect players to perform at their best when their head coach isn't interested. Regardless of the situation, Sharpe shouldn't be in any contact with our top grade squad if he is not interested in putting in the time and effort to perform at his best.

This for mine this is a board and coaching staff issue. So far we haven't heard shyte from either about why we are in this situation except excuses about asada.

Well that shyte don't fly with me either. The only reason to be out of form or panicking due to the ASADA investigation is if you know you have done something wrong, and by denying and lying about it, the individual players have a responsibility for bringing the club into where it is at the moment, same as danks, hibbert, elkin and the coaching staff and board. I may be old school, but I believe in putting your hand up and taking the wrap on the knuckles whilst owning your mistake.

Quite frankly imo, if you have done something wrong, then kindly pack your ****en bags and don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out.

The people this is affecting are the lifeblood of this club, the fans. Not to mention the poor pricks that signed on here after this scandal happened.

This whole season/saga has shown that this club is still a basket case in spite of the development and a new board, and will continue to be so until they provide the right tools to move forward.

Why do we have an assistant coach who doesnt want to be head coach?

Cos he wants to be assistant coach. Look at the media! Who the **** would want the job of a first grade coach! 3 losses they are on the choping block, apparently they are supposed to know the ins and outs of medicine too.
Sharpie is smart if you ask me. Who else woulda taken the job knowing flanno would be back possibly before the season is over? Noone looking for a career in coaching thats for sure.

The sharks are in an unprecedented situation, no other team would be going better than us in this situation. Look at newy? They have the 'supercoach' still only 2 wins and an arguably better all round team than us.

Why not? I would have thought it'd be a good opportunity for a rookie wanting to prove himself with a half decent list?

Possibly, but it wasnt a club in the best shape was it.

Not off field, no. But we still had a decent list and we wouldn't have had to pay a rookie much. At least they would have something to prove, it would kind of be like an audition for them. There's always movement in coaching ranks every year, plenty to prove.

But no, we give it to a dinosaur which the game has well and truly passed who doesn't want to coach. There's a recipe for success. Dud coach at Northern Eagles, even worse now. Stupid, stupid decision.

this!!

If they perform those other 3 coaches under pressure might have a replacement. Heres another idea if the temp coach is good give them another role here. Other clubs have backs coach, forwards coach, halves coach. We have a trainer and an assitant coach lookin after his retirement

Thats true, like if we could have won 10 straight to start the season flanno may never have been re-signed.

But as a career move an aspiring coach mighta been like i dont want to fail with that riff raff and forever be dubbed a dud coach.
It goes both ways, its a great way to start a career, but more than likely will send them back a step

My opinion of course, there is others who believe theirs to be more important than others, as irrelevant as it may be

But anyone worth getting will probably already be a senior assistant somewhere else (better), so waving that carrot wouldn't be all that appealing.

I think once we chose to keep Flanno, this was the only real way forward.

In Sharp's defence, we've had a woeful season with injuries. Sometimes we expect these people to be miracle workers.

I think all senior assistants would have it written in their contracts that they could leave for a senior role. Yes, it would be a risk but one worth taking I would have thought. As I said, there are always changes in the senior coaching ranks every year. A guy doing a good job with us would be ahead of assistant coaches when it came to vacancies you would think.

We all know why Sharpe is head coach even though he doesn't want to be. Money. He is the cheapest alternative and we don't have a lot.

It's **** and it would be really great if he could just try for the season but the players are going to have to improve their attitudes without getting pushed.

Its up to them now to decide what sort of season they want.

people need to stop blaming just Sharpie.

Fifita in his appearances hasnt been as damaging as last year
Carneys been poor
Gordons been poor
Leutele/Feki have been satisfactory, but poor moments cost us
Robson has been about as good as Jeff Robson
Ayshford may as well not actually play

We have had all sorts of injuries/suspensions with our pack, Gibbs,Fifita,Taga,Gallen,Lewis,Toupo,Heighno have all missed games.

To be fair to Sharpe, he really hasnt had luck either.

Then look at Ricky Stuart or Wayne Bennett, people are expecting alot more from those guys
