This is a good plan, buying Reynolds is a bad plan. So really HB I get no love for “ foul swoop” off the the back of your “mute point” comments?

In the context of replacing Chad (which won't happen anyway) why would buying Reynolds be a bad plan?

Nathan Brown had knocked back the eels 2 year deal.
If Fifita goes he’s who we should target.

Wouldn't St George be better served finding a few extra $ and just signing Brown themselves? Brown prob likes playing finals footy though ha - big fan of his

Although I like Brown, I am not sure he is who we need since signing McInnes. I would probably target a prop like Paul Vaughan to partner BHU and keep Toby at lock. In saying that at the right price, would happily take brown.

Vaughan is going well for the Dragons - wouldn't make sense for them to not try and retain him for the sake of bringing in Fifita

He is but at a couple years younger and cheaper (depends how much cheaper I guess) I'd be inclined to let Manly keep Tapau and go after Brown.
Tapau is a year older than Woods, year younger than Fifi and two years younger than Tolman. If they are all past their prime how far off can he possibly be?
There'd be a reason Manly would want to move off a favourite like him just to replace with another buy (different story if it was internal replacement).

Yep, I think I'd want Brown out of those 3 too. Probably going to cost more but there's a reason for that.

You rightly called out “mute point” a while back in this thread, so I offered up that Reynolds might be signed in “one foul swoop” hoping to wind you up. It is of course, “one fell swoop”.

I probably should have gone with “all intensive purposes” or “one in the same” or “extract revenge”

Ha all good mate.

I like the idea of getting Reynolds but would only be worthwhile if we could flick Chad and I can't see that happening.

dont even need to flick chad, give him the fifita treatment

that is, if morris has the balls to do it

For Reynolds SJ combo let Chad be Jets 7 or try get a 14 jersey some how.
Think he might be inclined to look elsewhere

Marty would have to be a reasonable price IMO. If you're paying as much as Brown I'd take brown 10 times out of 10.

Reynolds is a bad idea for us, for the same reason the bunnies won’t give him a long deal.
He’s good enough to be expensive, but old enough to be a liability. A more desperate club would take a punt I reckon, but we aren’t desperate.

Yeah I like Reynolds but would proceed with caution down that path.

LEGO Lessgo might find himself in reserve grade this year if Moylan and Johnson can play to anywhere near their abilities.

There are very few halfbacks that can manage a game well, kick conversions well, have a mad kicking game and can create plays - offering him 2 years wouldnt be a liability -

It is an option we should look at as it is definitely without doubt a massive upgrade on Chad Townsend who is here for another guaranteed two years anyway.. which other half will be up for negotiation that is at Reynolds standard ?

flick Chad to reserve grade he would leave in no time

Supposedly Hectic Cheese to Bulldogs for three years (I'm assuming from next year)

And Tigers seeking Hastings immediately to support Brooks (who is apparently now on close to 900k per season)
Suggested Hastings would be used more as a Connor Watson style ball playing lock

Let's see how Nico Hynes goes tonight at fullback, if he shows that he's up to it, one worth throwing a contract at.
