Most move on to different clubs. KFFL, Dean Whare, Kane Linnet, none of which are at the dragons anymore.

Sorry Tatus,
I just had to throw my comment in.
I suppose it DOES show that giving youngsters a go and developing them.
Doesn't mean they'll play for the same club in the long run.

maybe because they will have lichaa groomed nrl by that time
It's an indication that we'd be paying too much for too long unless he is being inundated with offers from other clubs (none of which have been mentioned). And that's looking at it purely from a market value point of view, before you even look at utility value. BUT more to the point I'm a bit sceptical about the amount.

So because you've been around forever you get more of a say than the rest of us?

Piss off mate i have only missed two games all year and pump literally 200 dollars a game into that ****ing club. Dont prance around thinking you know everything because you've been around longer than i or anyone else on here. Everyone wants to win as much as everyone else, but as you can probably tell, winning a comp is really ****ing hard and requires 100s of different scenarios to go to plan.

So stop your whinging and get to a game and support the boys.
So because you live in the area that makes you the all knowing expert on things? get real buddy. I do get to games, as many as I can despite the 2 half hour drive, with kids and probably spend more than you do! I know it is hard to win a comp - but any decent organisation would have found a way to do this in the time we have been around. I am just saying it seems all you shire people keep harping on about is how we should throw all our juniors in to solve the problem..... Name me any club in the last 10 years who has won the comp with a team of 20 year olds?

Roosters blood other teams young kids.... but the very best of the crop as opposed to every local junior this forum wants to roll out.
Manly blood young kids - have been a powerhouse and will continue to be as they blooded young kids who have at least 8 years left in the game.

Roosters blood young kids - now have a powerhouse team of experience and youth.

Tigers had a bunch of young kids when they won the comp, the list continues.

Honestly if the juniors are good enough they are old enough.

My point exactly Gibby!
Totally agree. Problem is "our" young blokes are just not that good.

We as a whole severely over -rate our own.

Its been stated before but

Frizzell - Solid at Dragons
Peachey - Fringe NRL with the Panthers
Townsend - Fringe NRL With Warriors
Kelly - Going well with Titans but left for other than performance issues
Mills - Never to be seen again at Broncos
Wright - Where is he actually?
Lichaa - Untested at NRL

Some Luke warm success at best from our so called juniors but IMHO the issue isn't giving them a go. The issue is with the last comment " if they are good enough they are old enough"

People on here have to take a firm grip on things and realise that THEY ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! Id love to have 10 local players running out in the NRL BUT the guys are just not good enough.

Ok are our juniors just not good enough for first grade fullstop or is it we lack the coaching staff to turn them from good under 20's players to decent first graders ?

They're not good enough, generally
As stated Roosters pay $$ to lure the best of the best

O'Sullivan is the recruitment manager for the Roosters,he was also recruitment manager for the Storm when they were $1.5 million over the cap.

So since we are 'apparently' going to offer Ennis $500k for three seasons, does this mean we have OFFICIALLY ruled out on Lichaa?

I use to think its our players, but im really thinking its a combination of players and Coaching / Structure....

I admit that I don't know a hell of a lot about the process at the sharks BUT from an outsider looking in our whole recruitment / development system is very very poor...

A very poor system that would be pretty easy to fix ( one would think )

Oh, and lichaa has done nothing!

Shown jack **** in his limited opportunities, other than to be totally stuffed after 15 minutes.

Glad he is going

Around 80 minutes of first grade is enough for you to judge a young player?

Who said I love in the shire? I trek an hour and a half every week to be here. I've already spent 80 dollars today and it isn't even 2:30.

Run straight, hold the ball, be tough and play for your mates, tackle tackle and don't drop the ball﹣Pretty simple ( play like gal)
