Disagree on the ball playing skills, he's got them just hasn't used them much.

In saying that yes please Arrow.

Sorry what I mean is, he isn't the kind of lock that can act as another 5/8 (IMO). I'm not saying he's any worse than a standard 'extra prop' lock that features in most teams.

But I guess it doesn't matter as these days locks play tight and the second rowers are more likely to have those skills (e.g. Graham has them).

EDIT: And to be clear his biggest issue is he has none of that 'police the ruck' defensive ability of some locks, and our team ****ing needs it.

Absolutely.

Besides, Williams looks like a really good bench middle forward at the moment. He doesn't seem to have the defensive starch to be a starting prop, nor the ball playing skills. But he's a fantastic impact runner IMO.

Arrow is just the perfect Gallen replacement in every way.

Also would disagree re: ball playing skills - we haven't seen much but have seen a few good passes from Williams.
I'd also say he has the defensive starch just not perhaps the stamina or attention span (also could be stamina related). Bronco's game in particular he had a few lapses... interestingly that was his most minutes this season too (55 compared to average below 40)

Yes he's definitely much more of the extra prop style that is common these days, he's thrown a couple handy passes (and has one 26m kick for a forced drop out!) but you wouldn't be switching him to 5/8 if someone got injured

Also just trying to think of how we fit everyone in. I mean we are going to want Woods and Hamlin-Uele in the team next year, if you add Williams to that bench that’s three middle forwards, seems unbalanced to me. Maybe we can try and move Prior on? There was talk a few weeks ago that Parra were interested in him. Then you could do:

8. Fifita
9. Brailey
10. Woods
11. Nikora
12. Graham
13. Arrow

14. Either Capewell replacement or a utility. Or Capes if he stick around.
15. Bukuya (playing edge backrow lately)
16. Williams (Middle forward)
17. Hamlin-Uele (Middle forward)

Just seems a bit more balanced to me.

Yeah I dunno. He looks like he can play a similar role to Jake Trbojevic imo when it comes to ball playing.

I think he'll surprise a few people.

That's great if he can. Just means he needs to be better in defence (and yeah fitness will help there).

If not, I would play Prior at lock next year and tell him to pull his finger out and make 50 tackles a game. He's been a great defender in the past. Start with Woods, Fifita and Prior. Uele and Williams on the bench with a second rower. That's if we can't get Arrow.

Prior is the closest to that role we currently have and isn't being as effective as a hit-up prop anyway.

Prior going would be a way we could potentially afford Arrow, without a big move like that I can't see it would be viable.

I've always been a massive Prior fan but I've gone right off him this year. He'd really want to show something very soon for mine.

Was listening to a radio program a while ago and it was talking about how some professional athletes lose motivation when they start a family. Wonder if that's what is going on with Prior.

Yep I'd be up for that!

Taking his family hostage seems extreme if that's what you're suggesting
Although at this stage we need to try something new...

I thought woodsy ran hard, but there was some shockers in defence. Lucky not to get pinged for a crusher early in the game (looked like he had a hold on the head and used his weight to yank on it) and pushing the attacker when getting up to play the ball. We don’t need that **** from him

Playing how he is told. Structure. Let the boys play what is in front of them or run over the Tnucs. Walking off the mark means crap these days. 2 or 3 metres every tackle.
