Not a scape goat, he just shouldnt be fullback anymore

He offers no second phase play, no support play and he is slowing down

He'd be better on the wing

...but the team wouldn't. Fact is there's no one better at the club or on the market, and way too many worse. Benji at fullback would be a mistake for him and us. We've tried everyone we have back there while Gordon was injured and they took us backward.

Spice up the halves and improve our defense on the edges ( which are much bigger issues) and you'd see a very different, very effective Gordon.

Well now you have snowman on your side, you will never be wrong.

I don't have a problem with Gordon as a fullback as such, but in our side with so little creativity, I'd prefer it if we had someone there that could ball play a bit more.

If we had 2 creative halves and some gun centres then it would be OK. But with our current line up it's not the best use of our resources.

**** off

Disagree, the game is passing him, should go back to the wing

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but give Holmes a go!

Fair enough. I'd love a gun at the back... Or in the halves... Or at centre... but I just don't see where they would come from. What do you think is the solution? If it needs to change, what's your option?

How is he under the high ball? And defensively? I hear he is good in attack but without those two traits we'd suffer badly.

thats why we place him on the wing for a couple of games even half a season but then slot him into fullback in attack and wing on defence and learn him learn his positional skills then come 2016 its all his

Surely carney would be a better fit at fullback than Marshall ?

Robo marshal in the halves .. Carney to fullback an Gordon on the wing ?

Or they could play Marshall from the bench .. Bring him on into the halves an move robo to hooker as a rotation

Hehe, they were actual questions,I've no idea if he can defend or defuse a bomb :)

I hear what your saying, but if he's not ready for first grade I'd rather not see him try to develop there. To many times we've seen players broken because they're still at a grade lower in ability and physicality.

And how hard would it be to learn a dust grade full back time while switching positions all the time? Top grade players struggle!

Marshall to fullback isn't a terrible idea. Last year Benji had trouble with running the ball, and his game suffered. Putting him at fullback would allow him to run the ball more and maybe find some form. Whether he can take a high ball and defend well there is a different story.

In saying that, if he did come here I'd be inclined to put him in the halves as we have a few good options for fullback.

I'll be happy as long as he doesn't give away too many penalties & that as you said we still keep Brown for the future, I'll be happy with Ennis taking De Gois's spot

Whats everones thought on Michael Ennis joining us next year?

Will play good for us BUT it's just another mistake to sign a 30 year old but not at least match the offer for a 21 year old for what I presume will end up being more money than lichaa was offered by the dogs.

he is 18/19 years old and under the high ball he is ok but he has dropped some in the under 20's but that doesnt mean he isnt nrl ready once he plays against the best halves in the world and defuses a few bombs on the wing his confidence will grow
The best young wingers are dropping bombs. Rts , tupou , tafua so we just have to perceiver.

Nrl and 20's are completely different and he needs to be given a shot and that is the only way we will ever know if he is ready.

I'm with you on this.

These guys are human beings, they will drop them. RTS and tupou are insanely good footballers. But would you drop them after a few a few errors? Hell no. Billy slater, Gordon and GI are gonna drop em from time to time, it's just footy.

Which is exactly what I'm afraid of us doing. Show some confidence in the kids when you pick them and back them for 5-10 rounds.
