I’m with gando. Not a terrible player, but a definite confidence player. Plays great when the team is playing well, but I haven’t seen him drag us off the floor when the team is playing poorly.

Interested in seeing Moylan and Johnson after two years together though. Swap Gutho with duges. He can go play with Fergwit again, and he’s already got a parramatta hairdo.

Moylan is a topsey turvey player but plenty of athletes thrive on confidence and struggle when they don't have it. there's nothing special about Moylan in that regard, it's a common thing. it's just more pronounced and noticeable when it's a key play maker in the spine opposed to someone who hangs out on the wing or hits it up in the forwards. his lack of composure when he ****s up doesn't help either I spose.

again plenty of players look good or play well when the rest of their team is and likewise look and play poor when their team mates are. but to that point while Mozza may not have dragged us off the floor he has kept us competitive in games where we wouldn't have been had he not been there. Rnd 1 and 2 this year he was a big spark for us in attack.

I rate Gutho, very good player, would love him to slot in somewhere here but I couldn't swap out Moylan to do it, we would just lose to much in the process

I think Moyza has been better since moving back to fullback, too. It might be because fullbacks are expected to take on the line themselves a bit more, but he seems more comfortable and less likely to rush or push the pass.

I'm not worried at all about Moylan at 1. It's getting the most out of our 6 we should be focused on.

Moylan was slow to adapt to 6 but started to get there at the back end of last season.
Would have been interesting to see how he went this year had he stayed there - I think pretty well.

But got back into the swing of things at FB straight away this season if we can keep him on the field for the rest of the year once hes back it'll help us immensely.
Wouldn't swap for Gutho

Moylan's best attribute is as an attacking fullback, ie a 5/8 that doesn't have to kick, tackle in the line or organise things too much.

I think his skillset is relatively mediocre in other fullback areas, and in other 5/8 areas. Overall this makes his best position fullback.

TITANS COACH'S CRUCIAL D.I.Y. MOVE

Titans coach Garth Brennan had changed his ways after the club’s disastrous start to the season - and it may just have saved his job.

For the first time in their history, the Titans lost their opening four games, prompting the knives to come out for Brennan on the glitter strip.

But I’ve heard that after that first month, Brennan decided to take a more 'hands on' role in coaching the team, concentrating less on recruitment and other tasks.

He made fixing the team’s leaky defence a priority and the Titans immediately improved, to come up with back-to-back wins over the Panthers and Knights.

The dual wins at home mean Brennan’s job is safe again - for the short term at least.

Because renewing contracts has come up in a couple other threads, particularly around Capewell...

Cronullas Top 30 players unsigned beyond this year
Blayke Brailey (since extended), Kurt Capewell, Sosaia Feki, Paul Gallen (retiring), Wade Graham (since extended), Aaron Gray, Billy Magoulias, Briton Nikora, Ava Seumanufagai (since departed), Scott Sorensen, Cruz Topai-Aveai, Braden Uele

Nikora definitely strikes me as the next priority.
Then probably Kurt & Uele.
Billy & Cruz if they are developing as expected.
Feki and Soro I wouldn’t mind picking back up cheap if they don’t get any other offers.
And then there is Gray who can be replaced by Ferris or someone.

I would happily sacrifice the rest if it meant retaining Nikora.

I think Sorro is worth keeping as a cheap squad filler but provide he doesn't get in the way of Wilton or Carr's development.

I'm not sold on Billy, I liked him in the 20's but he hasn't really improved alot since then. Has a good defensive work rate but he pushes too many offloads. Needs to work on that.

Cruz needs to string more games together. Seems like he's out every few weeks. Did have some good impact on the weekend for the Jets and still young. Could be good in a year or two.

I thought Billy played very well in the trials. He has also been spending some time at hooker which I think is handy.

We seem a bit short on edge forwards at the moment. Obviously Graham comes back in a few weeks, but even then we'll be only one injury away from being in the same position. I'd be in favour of keeping Sorensen until we know who replaces him in the squad.

Hmm, I was questioning the few weeks thing, then saw an article saying between round 9 and 12. That's interesting! The article was from Feb, anyone know how he's progressing?
