There is only a few good players left on the open market we can have a good look at ; 4. Ferguson (Centre - Leutele) 11. Jayden Su'a (2nd row - Lewis) 13. Taupau (Lock - Gallen)

Recruiting both woods and taupau would be silly IMO. We'd be spending to much money on middle forwards when it could be of better use else where. Its one or the other and preferably it's taupau

You also need go consider we are probably short one middle forward on our roster this year. Then need one go replace Gallen

Both are only being pushed out due to cap restraints at their current clubs though so its not like we're hitting the market and buying up at premium prices. If ya can get both for say $250-300K being chipped in by their current mob I think you do it. Say they're both on $800K and you get 'em for $600K each, that'd be anyone's starting and premier props, but we got Fifita and Prior too. We'll eventually have to pay up more in a couple years but Prior is 31 and we got some promising guys like Williams, so that might roll through okay. As Andrew points out at least one will be a sort of replacement for Gal.

I know I’ll get shot down for this & it will be unpopular & hope my post doesn’t get taken out of context but is Katoa that damn good?

If he ends up half as good as the hype we’ll have a hell of a player on our hands, look, I’m not bagging him, I understand he’s a young guy with only a handful of games in FG under his belt so I’ll give him some slack & time but I hardly think it should be a given he’s a definite wing spot for us in 2019 or st this stage or based off what he has shown thus far.

I like anyone of you guys want him to be a gun but geez, let’s see what he can do before making him a lock for one of our wing spots.

Fair call mate. Happy to see how he goes but no way am I thinking that wing is sealed up. He's exciting and people are excited about him. I'm like you want him to go gangbusters but balanced. I need to see him with some more ball before I can make a call.

In one of the Woods articles Flano was quoted as saying that they are trying to re-sign Jack Williams, and extend Katoa and Nikora.

No chance manly end up chipping in anything, theres enough demand for him. Tapau will be worth 900k+ also IMO. If we end up with him and fifita we'd be sinking close to 2 mil into two forwards.

also put a halt to aggressively chasing barba

This is 100% not true. I never question your posts but whether its aggressively or not aggressively we are still negotiating Barba to sharks for 2019.

Yeah good decision that. Williams is clearly a first grader and should be in the Top 17 next year.

Katoa will be a gun.

And I have high hopes for Nikora but might not be ready just yet, perhaps jag a few games in 2019 like Williams this year for 2020.

imo he's a lock for one of those wing spots. He absolutely killed it in NYC, destroyed every key winger stat and other stats wingers shouldn't necessarily dominate like tackle busts etc.

I've watched alot of NYC prior to it not being televised and he was as dominant as Holmes but from the wing. He's going to be a gun imo, it's just a matter of when not if.

Of course he's not going to come out of the blocks straight away, might not see the best of him till next year but he's going to be a gun. If you dominate NYC like that its a good bet you're going to make it in first grade.

Bang on. Haven’t seen flanno this excited about a young kid before. He rates him, I’ll trust the process

Maybe townsville would be a good home for barba
no,no,no no no. Sydney is the best place for him away from his dead**** mates and family. His brother is being sentenced atm for a serious assault against an opponent. Guy was celebrating a teammates try running in clapping and Barba unprovoked just lays into the bloke. Everytime Ben comes to town he leaves qith rumours of him and his family running amok. With role models like that....

If I was him I would stay in the UK.
