It’s exciting to watch these guys play. There’s certainly potential there. But they need more game time against seasoned NRL professionals.

As we know, playing in this competition is bloody hard. You need to be consistent week in, week out.

None of them including Katoa are ready for first grade in my opinion. Katoa is fast, exciting, has a great step and swerve and knows his way to the try line. But defensively, he’s not quite there yet.

I think more than likely Flanno will go with this line up for our backline at Round 1:

Holmes
Feki
Dugan
Leutele
Gray
Moylan
CT.

Interesting though he had gray at centre....

I'd like Katoa outside Dugan but I could easily see us running Grey on the wing to play like Feki. We'll monster return meters but probably lack some finish once we've steamrolled our way upfield. That may be made up for if Grey is better in D than Katoa.

I could be bending the cliche line by saying this but even though Gray is a big strong back ... he wasn't bending the line

More I think of him the more I think he's like Feki. Big, strong, a bit quick, good leg drive but a bit lacking in skill. Maybe a bit shot/average in the air for a winger. Will return the ball well and take some early DH runs.

From what I saw of him at Souths he had good ball skills and top speed. Leg drive could be what he's missing.

Don't really recall so much ball skill if you passing and setting someone up but what that might be just my ****ty memory. He has a fend on him though. You might be right about the leg drive actually.

Yeah thought he'd be more colourful.

Even his tatts lack colour.

Flanno needs to buy a bag of fire ants. Probably won't be popular with the ground staff though.

Katoa is ready for firsts.

Those 2 tries he conceded he was completely isolated with little to no help from his inside men. Hardly a reason to not put him in when nearly anyone in his position would have been scored on too.

He’s electric and exciting and has X factor. Not to mention a fantastic finisher which we will need since feki isn’t.

I mean did you not see the run he made to score that was called a knock on? He beat so many blokes with genuine speed and natural ability.

It’s a nobrainer. He did some amazing things you can’t coach. Flanno isn’t stupid like some of you who don’t think he is ready.

Agree with those tries conceeded, second 1 more so. Thought he was a bit lazy on the first though, not much of an attempt at getting to the high ball

Katoa would be next to Dugan? Would be more comfortable with him next to Dugan than Leuts when the bombs go up.
