The beautiful thing is whether it's Moylan or Keary they would both be great choices. Wouldn't be upset with either.

I just love Kearys ability to get outside his man and has a better kicking game
and as far as we know he doesn't root his teammates missus.

Yeah either would be better than Maloney based on the garbage he dished up this year.

What about 2016 Maloney?

Yes, he didn't have a great 2017, but he was no orphan there.
The one thing that Moylan and Keary offer is youth, but I would still rate Maliney higher TBH at the moment.
Long term, I would def agree that the other two are better options thou.

Keary is a good talented player who I do rate but in terms of the Sharks situation:

Chad/Keary isn't better than Chad/Jimmy
Chad/Moylan isn't better than Chad/Jimmy
Chad/Pearce isn't better than Chad/Jimmy
Keary/Jimmy is better than Chad/Jimmy
Pearce/Keary won't happen
Pearce/Moylan won't happen
Moylan/Jimmy wouldn't work
Pearce/Jimmy would be best

Jimmy was poor in 2017 but is still a gun, Chad is the elephant in the room.

Biggest factor, jimmy obviously wants out. We need to plan for life beyond him whether thats 2018 or 2019

I know you're joking but no thanks. Can't stand the little prick, he really rubs me up the wrong way for some reason.
Pearce is gunna rub you up all sorts of ways...

Then IMO we are worse off unless we could somehow replace Chad to partner whoever the new 5/8 would be

But yes beyond 2018 we prob gotta plan for life without maloney regardless and that could mean a backwards step in the short term

I personally would be targeting Pearce. He has always played well at club level. We could offer him a 4 year deal which essentially will mean we have signed him for his prime as a half. We then look at offloading chad two years into his deal.

2018...Pearce/Chad ...as the year progresses and opportunities arise have flanagan on the bench

2019...Pearce/Chad...flanagan as a permanent bench spot and throughout the year taking the position off Chad

2020 Pearce/Flanagan. Chad can play on the bench and be back up if he stays otherwise let him get frustrated and other clubs offer him deals.

That in my opinion makes us a top 4ish side for 4 years and give young Flanagan some good experience.

I personally can't see that working at all

gagan has signed a 1 year deal with souths. good signing for them, hopefully he gets to play a few games in the nrl next season.

agnatius paasi looks likely to head off to the warriors with the club also going all out for blake green.

jack stockwell likely to link with souths too

Apparently the Panthers will be issuing a major press statement tomorrow. Not exactly sure what will the announcement will be.
