On the SMH website it says Cronulla have upped the ante in chasing Moylan, let's hope we get it done & jimmy can get his pay day at the knights or wherever.

I really don't understand what is going on with Maloney. He must have done something to really upset Flanno and the club. Yes he wants more money etc, but if we were to sign Moylan there is no question Moylan would cost a lot more than what Maloney is currently on. Maloney has won us a premiership and has an unbelievable record of success despite a year he'd probably rather forget, Moylan has played a handful of games in the halves and has a major question mark over him given he sat out the finals.

I think Moylan would be a good long term recruit, but there must be some serious stuff going down with the club and Maloney. Today the SMH says we've up'd the anti for Moylan, yet in the same paper Weidler says there has been no request for a release and he is getting on with Griffin well meanwhile Rothfield repeats the story that he is headed for Manly. All very very odd.

Its not a problem with Maloney.

In 2015 he signed with us for 3 years. We have a whole squad of players to fit under the salary cap, James included. When doing recruitment since James came here his salary was considered for those seasons and people signed around that. He wants a pay rise mid contract, as opposed to inking a new deal for more money beyond this deal. Other players are probably worth more than they are on, or want more than they are on. All those guys lke Val, Dugan etc got new contracts with new market values based on a higher cap coming in. The thing with the club is not about thinking jimmy isnt worth more, its about who the **** does this guy think he is. Im sure if Jimmy said i want 900k a year, 3 year deal and maybe throw us an extra 100 next year the club would love that. Instead its been about next year and next year only. Why would we pay a guy an extra 300k only for him to leave after that season anyway? Its like giving your missus 100 bucks to go to coles, then throwing her an extra 100 to get herself something nice, even though u know shes not coming home

I agree that it can't just be about an upgrade for next year. I've no doubt if his management was negotiating more money for the final year of his contract it would be part of an extension, that's how it always works, but there seems to be no motivation from the club to do that which is why I find the whole thing odd. What are we going to do at the end of '18. It's pretty clear from watching the Under 20s finals that junior Flanno is a long way from running a first grade team and is more in the Townsend mould anyway. I can't see why we wouldn't want to extend Maloney another 2 seasons unless there is a drama.

Maybe that was offered but his manager said lets wait til he can go to the market? In other words Maloney will go to the highest bidder. And i dont see any reason, especially after this year, why that should be us

Its not just about money or what Maloney wants. Several in the club would be glad to see the back of him.

Just read that Brett Morris is expected to sign with the Sharks.

This is from a poster I have never heard of so don't expect it to be true (yet) just thought I would share the rumour.

He's also saying we are going hard for Tariq Sims.

Once again I have no proof of this being true. But just thought I would share with the rest of you to see what comes of it.

Morris at $350k is fine by me and a big yes for T.Sims if true - adds more firepower than Taga, Heino or Williams.

Ruan might have changed his mind but I know the Sims boys, Tariq especially, really don't/didn't like the Sharkies.
