Knights are going to be interested in everyone, especially with the rumour that the Cowboys increased their offer to Scott and he's probably going to stay now.

Townsville is a ****hole - nothing paradise about it

Grew up not far from townsville and i back this 100%. It baffles me that players of good quality want to sign there. But that's the Thurston factor. Like snow said, once Thurstons gone that franchise will be an utter shambles like they were before his arrival.

No more word on Seggy that was supposed to have been announced already ( however Snowman feels announcement before the weekend )

But I will post this from the gun of other forum regarding JT below .

Taumalolo has spoken with a number of clubs recently, most notably Cronulla, Parramatta and South Sydney.

Whilst money is a factor, there are a number of other things at the negotiation table that are hindering on his next move.
Many feel it will take a lot to get him away from the Cowboys, but if he re-signs it will be a 2 year deal max.
He is cautious of Thurston retiring soon and he doesn't want to spend the best part of his years in a team rebuilding.
The Cowboys don't really have the assets going forward to remain a competition leader, and Michael Morgan won't be in Townsville once JT retires.
Add to that, the Broncos want Granville back as McCullough will probably head to the Super League.

The other issue is the NFL. His head is turned. Regardless of the fact he would make a third of the money that NRL clubs will offer.

In terms of teams he has spoken to recently, I would say we have had the most positive talks as we have stated we will meet his salary demands, plus have shown we have the assets in Val, Bird (?) Graham, Brailey ect to continue to compete, and will now have the pull to lure players to the club.
He also speaks highly of Flanno.

I doubt the Roosters will seriously be able to offer without losing someone extremely good like a Napa/Cordener/Hargraves player.
Newcastle will throw their hat in the ring but again, he doesn't want to be in a rebuild.

I'd give us a shot, but he may take a short term deal and leave Townsville after Thurston retires.

I'd give JT2 the money - he is lethal. We would have to go cheap on our wingers...and sign a couple no frills forwards

No such thing I would pay whatever it takes

I wouldn't, I think most agree he is the gun forward but as Slide has alluded to in the above post if you don't have a decent team for them to play in, i think this is where you need a good guy within our club to fully understand what the needs are of the player that they are looking to sign, is it all about money or what else makes the guy tick.

Does he value success in terms of titles, does he want to improve himself or is it just about getting every dollar you can before your playing career runs out, sell the Sharks dream to him & his manager, tell him he can have the best of both worlds if he is willing to compromise on some $$$.

Knights are apparently chasing Matty Prior, set to offer him a 3 year deal.
He will go. I feel we should keep him and let go of Fifita if it came to that. Cannot see Fifita loyal when its his turn to re-negiotate

In your head, rent free
sign JT3 and Fifita on large dollars. sign prior and wade just under them.
bird, capewell, bukuya, t-rex, jack williams and any others coming through. latimore is another cheapy.

wingers, feki wouldn't command much, lee wouldn't be on much. wouldn't mind upgrading either of them.
need a strike centre. leutele is good on the left, leave him there, but we need better.

hooker, we have seggy, brailey, brown ect, not bad have.

the key for us is in 2 areas: how we replace gal, and how we replace maloney
