These are the type of signings that sound half smart we should be trying to do more of them , it is a percentage thing ,not all brilliant juniors cut the mustard . But a congratulations to the club for this type of initiative should be more of em.

Any promising juniors in Bogga Bri mate?

Jackson Ferris signing is a good one. Maloney isn't young and Chad is not the messiah, so having more young halves in the system is smart.

Liking the Ferris signing and the kid from NZ, Particularly while we have the like of Maloney and to some extent Ennis with his ability to read the game, having both of them to mentor the young fellas has got to be a good thing.

I think Ferris is the kid from NZ.

Panthers just sacked Ivan Cleary from the last year of his contract. We should offer him an assistant gig for 2016. Unless he goes OS he'll be unemployed otherwise, he might take it. The assistants at the Cowboys have a lot more experience than Cleary and they've done it.

I would too but no way Flano will do that.

Pretty sure Cleary won't be long out of a head coaching role, he's too good to be an assistant somewhere and he probably knows it. He'll go to somewhere with a head coach that is underperforming, eg NZ Warriors as sharks2010 said.

yeah it wouldn't surprise me if Gould caught wind of Cleary negotiating a deal with the Warriors for 16 or 17 and just got on the front foot and terminated his contract.

I can't see the Warriors going into the year with the squad they have now without a decent coach

I can't see the Warriors taking him back. Why sign an all star team only to bring back your old coach, and it's not like he left and became a superstar. Seriously he'll be someone's assistant next year while he waits for a better gig, he may as well be ours.

because he got the best out if them and they were spewing he left. He did well at the Panthers. Even the great coaches would have struggled with their injuries this year. He's a good coach

yep they had shocking injuries this year, but also had them last year where they went within a bees dick of the grand final.

Obviously a lot goes on behind closed doors we dont hear about

The Warriors let him go early from his deal because they couldn't promise the security that the Gould deal offered, ironically. That's not exactly "spewing". I'm not saying he is a bad coach, he's a good coach, but with guys like Griffin and Toovey floating around, I can't see the Warriors going back to the future.
