That's a hard one because of the cap and the way it is structured, some of the figures bandied about on here are laughable.
You never know maybe he wants to play under Flano, Just offer him whatever they think is fair no more no less.

Ha ha, Hoppa thinks the part that is lacking in his game is the grind, he wants to be taught by the best.

Gerard Beale

Does anyone know if there are any other centres in the comp yet to score a try?? That Beale has not crossed yet is absolutely unacceptable! Even Poms managed a few tries! WTF!

In context, Robson has 5 try assists this year.

End of the day, while we play Flannoball I don't think any center is going to thrive in this team.

Robson is the halfback, so he really should have more assists than Beale, but I see your point about Flannoball.

Up to last week Beale had the most line break assists of any centre this season. There is much more statistics in the game than the amount of tries scored by an individual in a team game.

Always love the idea of carrying a centre like hurrel or winger like radradra, u can forgive them some of their errors cause they can make something out of nothing through just brut strength, stuff the fancy footwork quickest way to the try line is straight.

Outside backs like that instantly make your attack more dangerous.
We definitely lack both top shelf speed and strength to get across the line, but unlike other years I'm not unhappy with our outside backs.

If the right player came on the market, we should be all over it, but until then hopefully some good service from two new halves will get the best out of what we have.

Who knows, maybe Bird will become that player for us.

The problems not Beale, it's the halfback and game plan. Every time Beale gets early ball in a bit of space he does something classy and creates an opportunity. The problem is he gets this type of ball about once a game.

When does a coach start playing to his players strengths instead of doing the same old thing.
Go figure people, it's not rocket science.

Eels in new contract fight over Hopoate
SMH.com.au
– July 9, 2015News, Parramatta Eels, Will Hopoate

Will Hopoate

A week after Parramatta's contractual dispute with marquee recruit Kieran Foran was salvaged at the 11th hour, it is understood the Eels are now in a similar battle with NSW Origin representative William Hopoate and his management.

Fairfax Media understands the club has tried on two occasions to change the contract extension Hopoate signed after months of negotiations with Scott Seward before he stood down as the club's chief executive.

The unsigned offers presented by the new regime are a result of an investigation of what a club spokesperson said "was the small number of player contracts" negotiated by Seward, who was said to have been in charge of the Foran deal.

It's understood that weeks after it was signed, Hopoate's deal still hasn't been registered with the NRL.

What you say is perfectly correct.

However you would think a player with Beale's reputation might have found a way to break the line in 15 matches ?

Having said that , I plan to back him for FTS this week , just on the law of averages for an outside back.

My point exactly. Does anyone remember when we signed Nigel Vagana??? Came off the back of a try scoring record at the bulldogs only to be used as a battering ram in our backline? Seems everytime we sign a promising centre - our structure suffocates their ability. Its been happening for years!
