Anybody watch Chris Lillys "Angry Boys" on abc 9.00pm on Wednesdays?
I suggest watching it next week, i believe the sharks are getting a mention in the "Macca mad boys" section.

I'm sorry boys, maybe I am old and have no sense of humour, but Chris Lilley has to be the worst TV performer ever. I say TV performer because he is not a comedian. He is not funny at all. He uses four letter words for shock value, so anyone who is not too good in the brain box department thinks it is hillarious. His humour, if you can call it that, is poor, lacks any structure, and gives the wrong example to our younger generation.

I could go on and on and on but I don't want to talk about him any longer. I can think of around 30 better "comedians" than him. Even if the Sharks are going to get a mention, I will not be watching him.

Him and Kath and Kim are the ones who seem to get the big kudos in the comdey world and neither of them are funny.

I think he is actually very clever and it is unfair that he only really gets known for his characters who act the way you are describing. Many like me watch his shows because he gives a very accurate and comical portrayal of different people (often stereotypes) in our society in an exaggerated form and he plays them all himself, and very well at that. Everyone knows a teacher like Mr G, a tough Gran, a popular self-obsessed girl like Ja'mie, a dumb kid who swears and thinks he is "the ****".

Unfortunately a couple of his characters designed to make fun of uneducated teens and kids, have really become popular with those teens and kids who simply watch it because they think those characters are "cool".

I think you have missed the point of his show. But to each their own of course.

I agree Ramzyv1.

I first watched 'We could be heros' and think it's probably the best one because it's the most natural. The introduction of Jona sort of started what you are saying I think, though he was an absolutely great character.

No mate I do understand the point of the show, I just don't find it funny or clever. The paragraph you have written in bold is the reason why it doesn't appeal to me and I think you've obviously recognised that. :cheers

I am not a fan of angry boys. Watched all three and no laughter yet. Summer Heights High was great. I guess he got lucky once....

Summer Heights High was his second show actually.

The twins from the current series, and Ja'mai or whatever her name is from Summer Heights High, are all from the first series (We Could Be Heros), which I reckon is the best one.

Never saw We Could Be Heroes. But I though Summer Heights High was pure gold, maybe cause I was 14 when i watched it :D ahaha

I reckon Angry Boys was too hyped up, there are some good bits in it but I'm noticing I'm laughing less each week.

I haven't found Angry Boys that funny from the two episodes I've watched so far. S.Mouse seems like a feeble attempt at connecting with the US audience.

loved summer heights high and like watching angry boys as it is entertaining but I don't find it that funny. I've gotta watch we could be heroes.

Parody.

Unfortunately, the more feeble minded in society don't understand when a mirror is being held up to them and consequently emulation rather than repulsion becomes the derived reaction.

A bit like a budgie mindlessly imitating itself in a mirror - sad but true - we're talking about a very similar intellectual capacity here.

It was ever thus.

Wow, I thought I would be the only one that doesn't like it.

Fitz's words are pure poetry and very true - those who are parodied don't get why but still think its funny. If you take away the mindless swearing its even less funny, so I really believe that is what you are all laughing at.
