Don't like the sound of this.

"It's my wife's fault/my wife won't let me" is the oldest excuse in the book,

one usually used when you feel like you can't say no to your mates.

What ever their decision will be the best for them, and so it should be. Fans are fans what ever they decide. We will get over it and so will they. Hope it us but what can we do to change it on this forum. The best to you.

Agreed! oh well, he is asking massive money now, so while he will be a big loss Cronulla never seems to have issues in the forwards.

What Andrew hasn't realised yet is _ that GOD IS A SHARKS SUPPORTER.
Sure you could win comps playing for the Waratahs, Roosters, Bulldogs, Rabbits. etc..
But it's all been done before.
If you really want to Stamp your mark in history.
Take a paycut for 3 years, enable the club and supporters that LOVE You to enjoy BLISS, against the odds.
AND lets win that VERY FIRST Premiership (as underdogs - not $$$$ first)
Be LEGENDARY,
I'm sure your wife would love you if you took short term $$$ pain for long time $$$$$ gain.
As you would be re-known for the rest of your life as the MAN who went with his HEART and helped create the fairytale.
$$$$$ WILL COME LATER.
Just my opinion.
PS: God just winked at me.

Paul Gallen had this idea.

But you are using words like pay cut, short term $$$ pain etc.

1. Whether he signs for $650,000 or $1,000,000 he is on a huge pay increase from what he has ever earned. And whether he gets 650,000 or 750,000 i find it hard to see where he will have $ pain.

2. The lure of a premiership is not something that will be used in Shark negotiations.

Thats great. but does anyone see him being a captain?

imagine him talking to the ref, rolling round on the ground like a soccer player

dont they do that with everyone. Wade, Todd, **** Pomeroy probably got begged to stay on as captain

That sounds pretty promising. He is clearly happy at the Club, and frankly, he wouldn't have imagined in his wildest dreams he would be offered the type of financial package on offer.

From a Sharks perspective, I would be having a quiet word about the Kade Snowden experience.

the word groomed reminds me of a sex pest.

Sounds more like they dangle carrots but never deliver at feeding time. Todd and Wade Co-Captains when Gal retired end of story

im sure gal has mentioned Douglas and snowden, but I don't think snowden has been as bad as some of the bitter fans make him out to be

cool have that, but forget about one of the most talented forwards to play the game being in our colours next year

I highly doubt that carrot will get dangled. Or if so with his current on field attitude (flops, and silly penalties) i would hope he grows up alot before gal retires (not that gal is any better).

I hear what you're saying , BUT.
It is VERY much ingrained in the Australian (especially Sporting) Psyche that to see true underdogs surmount the odds is ABSOLUTELY Awesome.
Yes, he is a modern day professional athlete, all good.
BUT, he has come from a grounded battler upbringing and the Sharks (battlers amongst the big fish) are a great fit.(something perhaps Fergo should take on board).
There is a great crew here with abundant mate-ship.
Together climbing that mountain , no doubt would feel HEAVENLY.
Watching Andrew last year, he would not deny that.

IF they BOTH said stuff the extra $100 -150K per year, whilst we're both young.
AND instead said lets DO the yet underachieved with my Sharks Mates, then NRL immortality is there's for the taking.
That would be LEGENDARY, for them and ALL NRL Fans to witness. HEART over $$$$ for once.
I say a lure of a perhaps improbable YET perhaps very probable premiership should NOT be underestimated in any discussion. In fact it SHOULD be a Carrot.
You may well say why would they think that way (fair call )
But I Challenge them to LOOK at this from a different angle.
Money isn't everything and if they continue to play elite football it will never be an issue, as they will in DEMAND well and truly after their playing days have finished.
