Not sure if he would be the right fit for a coaching role, I sort of feel it’s good to honour the past but each playing group have to be their own squad. Hopefully we can use him in that part time ambassador role that Gal and Lewy do well

He would be great for a pathways type role. His story from the streets to the NRL is truly something. Would inspire a lot of the youth out there IMO.

Thank you Andrew. He retired as a Sharkie legend. I know many of us did not want to see him wearing another jersey.

All the best in whatever path you choose next.

Anyone think he actually had offers from rival NRL clubs? Can't recall if it was Andrew that mentioned he did or something from the media, always surprised me a bit even if he had a good 2022 for the Sharks

Perhaps with the run down of his body given to him he decided it just wasn't worth it to put himself through it anymore or risk making things worse and all that surgery and rehab doesn't sound fun. Might still have to get alot of it done post footy but at least he can take his time with it and not stress about getting back to the team and injuring himself again or whatever

Andrew was one of the best things to happen to our club and came along at the perfect time just as we were beginning to assemble a proper squad and become competitive again under Flanno as me moved beyond the Sticky years.

His Grand Final try is his most famous but one of my earliest and most memorable was Andrew streaking away down field and putting some footwork on the last defender to score a try. It was then we knew we had a very special player on our hands. Think it was against Tigers at home in 2012

All the best big boy

When I saw Sharks Legend to retire - I thought it was Wade
Wade ain’t going down as a sharks legend, (will be remembered but not a legend)

But Fifita will!!!

Far out hope he stays on at the club as a mentor/ trainer
