One of the only players on his side that made serious impact carting it up. Doesn't seem to have that lateral defence these days.

I was impressed with him though.

Because of the defence I don't see him as a top tier player anymore unfortunately, but could play an important role at some stage through the season.

Absolutely love the guy and the passion he puts into the game.

And looked like he was blowing after about 10mins but was first proper run in while.

Glad he looked like he should be at least around same level as last year though.

Apart from being one of the best players on the field Hynes didn't do much.

Guarantee if Thurston had taken that dive after a chip kick he would have got a penalty.

I don’t think the indigenous hooker and forward pack did the spine trio any favours And also the coach chopped and changed the spine too much!
Ramien I thought was tough/ hard hitting (in D and Attack)
Nikora played very well
Hunt went okay. Limited minutes??
Fifita was penalised on reputation but didn’t set the world on fire either. He was ok.

This might be crazy but I reckon he would’ve killed it at fullback tonight - I hope us playing him at 7 (first receiver) doesnt take away from what’s gotten him here

Definitely this. Not even near-death can curry flavour with the refs these days.

I liked Fifita’s energy and runs, went better then I thought he would’ve. Agree on the indigenous side chopping and changing during the game didn’t help anyone. Their 9 was sht !

Yeah, i think trindall and kennedy struggled in the wet. I was impressed with hynes kicking game and overall involvement, he was in everything and really is a class above. jesse looked fit, nikora was strong all game, hunt was a handful when on, fifs passionate as ever. Good hit out.
