More than anything I want fifs to finish his career on his terms playing good footy like gal & lewy pretty much did, only watched the last try in 2016 again the other day, I swear not being biased i honesty can’t think of anyone else that could have got that ball down, to crash bang then contort his body whilst swapping hands with 4-5 on him deserves to finish A BOSS.

Loving that I'm now not only overly psyched for a big Fitfita season, but ready to ruin my SC team by including him

We all knew he was looking good but 15kgs is impressive, plus another 5kgs to go.

Going into the season with a fit Moylan and Fifita could be huge for us

Sounds like a lot of it is just water weight he shed so realistically it hasn't actually gone anywhere yet unless he's going to do weight cutting before every game. Good that he's at least recognised the issue but will take more than a couple days of work to fix it.

yeah you would hope so.
see what he said about eating on the road. hahaha "no proper feeds, just takeaway"

If my mate we call The Fridge (both for size and the amount of beers and food he can hold) can go for a weekend away with the boys not touching a drop of alcohol and eating only meals he pre-prepped and brought with him because he has an amateur bjj comp he wanted to try do well in then Andrew Fifita who gets paid 850,000 a year to be an athlete has no excuse for ever having a bad diet. I don't know where he went but I reckon there was probably supermarkets, restaurants other than KFC, even splash out (barely any of his) money on an electric eski for the car.

Hopefully now that he may have figured it out though he gets properly on top of it and stays on top of it to have a good season.

Honestly the best thing he can do for his knees was to lose weight especially with his style of running or crabbing.

Wasn’t he saying last year that the best thing for him was to put weight on his legs?

Pre rule change he both said that and then did it.
Don't think it's backed up by quotes or anything but I felt he wanted to do that to be able to throw more weight into contact, to compensate for lack of power generation through legs. Probably not the best move for overall health of knees but I can follow logic behind it giving him more confidence and impact on the field. Then rule change came in and suddenly it was worse for his knees AND his game play.

Now he may lack the power through legs and not be able to throw the extra 20 kegs around but he gives himself the best chance to get game time by actually being fit/mobile enough to play in the faster game. Then it will be up to him to find a way to make an impact (fend is probably a big one)

He has no idea the poor lump. Glad he's actually listening to some good advice now.

My take would be, from watching his career, that his biggest assets were step, size and offload, in that order. He doesn't need to be a huge bopper. He has always had that innate ability to shift slightly just before impact and make it hard for a defender to get a decent hit or grip. That 2016 GF try was a thing of beauty, the way rolled and rebounded forward through the defence and into a position to get the ball down. Not have five guys bounce off his enormous chassis then fall over the line.

He needs to put weight on in his legs through muscle gain, defintely not fat. But it all needs to be proportional to his body, and now that it looks as though he's lost a lot of belly fat, the weight in his knees is reduced.

Overall I think we will see more of Fifita this year due to his change.

Technically, we will see less of him..............

He's always had twig legs, same as Wade tbh

Don't need tree trunks for strong legs (said he was squatting around 250 last year), some of his training videos you get a look at his pins and they're all muscle

Yes, if we can get him back to at least 90% capabilities this year , that would be GREAT

The big fella is a legend and can do whatever he wants. Without him we don't win the GF in 2016.

Mozza, Woods and Fifita did a fair bit of what they wanted last year and it didn't exactly put them in the 2020 legends category... or get us near another trophy

Sure
Just don't get upset when we don't go as well as we could this year and next year if he can't get above 'barely making the bench' standard. Effectively playing under a 500k-ish reduced cap.
Don't blame Bomber when we don't beat teams who have their full salary cap available to play. Don't get upset at Chad and Moylan (and SJ) when they are struggling behind a beaten forward pack because our highest paid forward can barely contribute at an NRL level.
Without him we don't win the 2016 GF, agreed. With him we don't win any others, unless he can get back towards his old form.

Personally as I have said many times my immense appreciation and respect for Fifita's previous achievements doesn't negate me also wanting the best for our current team.
My preference is our current team can do well including a good contribution from Fifita but if our best chance is without him I won't not say that just because he was an absolute hero (and robbed of Clive Churchill) in grand final, and fantastic for us for a bunch of seasons.

I won't argue that he didn't didn't deserve the contract he got, and I won't even say that it wasn't still worth it to get that Premiership even if we do have to carry him for two more seasons, but last couple seasons he has cost us more than he has given us and I'm keen to see that change (preferably through him getting back some of his previous form).

Fingers crossed his new shape and the disappointment of recent years works in his favour going forward!

I don't know that it is fair to say that Moylan's injuries were what he wanted haha
He did a fair bit of nothing though that's for sure

Not quite what I meant :)
Bomber was saying part of his issue stopping him getting on the field was mental. I think Moylan decided when he played and how long for quite a bit

Chill mang Fifita will be better

he was looking good for a few weeks last season until he copped a new injury and he looks fitter this pre-season. he can still deliver us a powerful 40 mins from the bench or starting whatever

blokes like Moylan are the ones that hurt our cap / value the most and subsequently I am much harsher on them opposed to someone like Fifita who has runs on the board for our club and can't doubt his passion and usually gives 100%
