Meh. For me he is basically saying we can't win it without signing a quality backline player. Well we are no chance of that so we will have to develop one. Sometimes Flanagan is just too honest in his interviews.

I do like the Fifita coup all the same MB. Can't wait to see him in our colours. Scores alot of tries for a prop...hope that didn't curse him.

Don't really rate Gibbs at all to be honest. He does what he has to. Ross is better and Fifita has as much potential as any front rower in the comp.

I agree. I just think it is funny that he essentially agrees with you. Definetley too honest.

Agree on Gibbs. If it wasn't for being one of the niggliest players in the comp he'd be one of the most boring- he does nothing with his runs and tbh I don't have much hope of that changing. Good defender in the ruck though. We will rely pretty heavily on Ross getting our sets going.

Not sure whether Flano intends to use him at prop, but I still would really like to see Taga and Fifita coming off the bench together in the front row with Gal shifting to tight backrower when Big Jez has a spell. The Roosters really got a lot out of having Lama Tasi and Mose Masoe running as a one-two pair last year- remember what they did to us. Taga and Fifita are at least as big and just as talented. Taga's footspeed and his willingness to just charge straight in to the teeth of the ruck at 100m/hour will hopefully balance out Fifita's tendency to crab around and palm.

Love your thinking mate. We have to find a way of getting our best players into the 17. It's an unfortuante situation that we have about 25 quality backrowers to fit in. Taga has to be in there somewhere and I would rather have him play prop than in the centres if we can't fit him into the backrow. Now if you throw Friz into the centres you have solved two problems, strengthened the team and freed up some spots.

Backs, by their very nature, will appear just after the big blokes have battered the defence enough. I've got a feeling that 1 or 2 will step up this year and appear just in time to collect the pill from this good looking pack, and take the armchair ride to the line. Bring on Round 1 Vs Tiggers. Looking more and more like it's worth the flights from Melbourne. Western side still the go at Leichardt ?

I agree about Gibbes being boring. I wouldn't be upset if Taufua started the season ahead of him. He is fast and aggressive whereas Ross is more of a toiler.

Also keen on Frizz to get a crack at centre. I rate him highly but not sure I would put him ahead of any of the guys currently in the backrow.

Great to hear that he is after that sort of player. We all knew he wanted a back but to hear him say that is exciting as we know he will be going all out to get it.

Just watched the ZUU interview with Fifita. When he talks about Sharks being a fresh start and states that he is here to make his name I got movement. I think he is going to have a massive year. Great start with All Stars Selection and emerging Blues squad. Couldn't have hoped for anything more.

I disagree I think he had a great year last year. He is a great worker and isn't afraid to role the sleeves up and take the hard hit ups when the going gets tough
