agree... the only upgrading that will happen in our back line will be through player development and improvement - no recruitment - not this year anyway ..

i think we are used to poms not passing so i dont mind if he just steamrolls over the opposition if it means a try. PLUS if we have stapo on the wing i would PREFER poms catching the ball and not passing it

Cross is too old, he would most likely be an upgrade on the Pom but he isn't what we need. I wouldn't be upset if we signed him but it wouldn't cause me much excitement either.

This is only a problem for fans. For plenty here young > old under any circumstances. E.g. Anyone picking Wright, Mills etc. ahead of Best. Ryan Cross would be better than any other guy we have under contract, and a one year deal wouldn't hurt anyone's overall development and would improve our depth. I don't care if a guy is 32 if he can still play better than the 27 and 21 year olds we have.
