A Suggestion To My Fellow Sharks Fans

OK, as we all know last night's Dally M was a complete farce. Not only did our boys miss out on the big awards (Gal for Dally M and Gards for Rookie of the Year) but the powers that be gave Luke ****ing Lewis the Lock of the Year award over Gal, which I don't think anyone with a brain can understand.

As we all know, Gal probably doesn't really give a toss about a shiny award, but a snub like that has got to hurt at least a little bit.

So I was thinking about ways we, the fans, could show Gal and the rest of the team our appreciation and how we still believe in them and in next year.

Then as I was going to the shops this morning I saw the office of the Leader across the road and I had an idea.

I figured that we (either as Sharks Forever or as Believers) could take out a front page ad (or even a full page inside, although that would mean less people see it) to thank Gal for his outstanding individual season and send a message of hope to the team and all fans that we BELIEVE that next year things will turn around.

I don't know how much it would cost, but I figure if anyone reckons this is a halfway decent idea we could all put in a little bit.

Does anyone else think it's a good idea, or should I put the bong down and stop posting?

I work in newspaper advertising an ad on the front page of a paper like the leader would be around $2000-$3000 for a 10x6 box, the best way to do it would be to approach the leader and get them to do some editorial on the sharks and how they were ripped off and how we are always ripped off/never ever shown on free to air television, maybe take a photo of the cssc in all their gear, and then do some quotes/ 1 liners from sharks members saying how they feel about the situation the Leader may be interested in running a story like this for free, thats right FREE!

Also in the article we could get the leader to lineup Lewis stats beside Gals stats, so the general public could understand where we are coming from and hopefully see how rorted the team in their shire is getting!

TBH, I think it would come across as sour grapes and not very gracious if you make any reference to the Dally M's.

Yeah but its in the Leader not the SMH so it wouldnt be as poor me, its more of a cry out to people in the area/supports to raise their voice and relise whats going in the NRL also might help drum up some more support for our boys next year!

See what the cost of getting something in the magazine (Shark attack) ie supporters page.

Send a special message to the players etc.

Show the we Believe, star pic of the Be gnome, what we have done as a group etc etc.

Cost will be the only thing from holding it back.

How about contacting a sponsor of the club to see if they can help (financially) and have there corporate logo there as well.

Great idea, but i would rather the focus be on how much the fans appreciate his god like efforts rather than it being about him being a better lock than Lewis.
