I hope the NRL doesn't call rugby league in Perth a failure, because they decided the hold day one on a friday, and have a pool of 4 teams only play one team each

Seems like the NRL wanted this to fail.
The scheduling was ****e. WTF was Friday night all about?
Pool of 4 but only play 2 games!
What other sport EVER does that???

+ their seems to be no atmosphere in the crowd.
When it was the Auckland 9s fans were dressed up in costumes holding funny signs dancing to songs.
Drinking Woodstock cans having fun. The stands in Perth look half empty

Thought I’d log in to see who won, didn’t watch any today read we won wacko, but couldn’t help myself saw the headline about panthers watched the reply... sums up everything dumb from HQ these refs haven’t had to make a live decision in 5plus years then we wheel em out this weekend and say go for it... I want the dragons to win because the refs will be the talking point and they will be reminded how hollow a victory it really was.... I’ve got a episode and a half to go in the last season of sons of anarchy jax and his mates are way more captivating than 9’s tripe in its current format,

Geez Dragons fans would be a bit upset, broken cheekbone and arm for 2 of the team. Even if they had've won it, wouldn't have compensated.

That’s the bad luck that balances out the good luck of a game winner being awarded despite the whole ball being out.
MCL sprain for the captain too I believe
Although not as severe an injury and Luke can help them out if McInnes isn’t full fitness for round 1

Maybe they can delay their April Premiership for early June?

not reading back through this but really a disappointing end

i thought we took a good team but didn't play the right team against the dragons, needed more speed to move with them

SJ, ****, what a let down, best 9's player in the world and delivers that ****

thank god no one is injured

We did the Sharks thing and went in thinking we'd win the game easy. They had Frizell, Hunt and a young dynamic backline - was never going to be easy.

I wouldn't say SJ really stood out much over Chad, Trindall and Tracey which is pretty concerning as they are two rookies and Chad when Johnson was supposedly the first 9s Immortal coming off a fantastic preseason...

Haven't sorted out our defensive issues in the off season,

felt like we were playing with less than 13 men out there at times

Yeah, and Dugan was completely disinterested... don't remember a single touch.

Great... The next headline - Dugan, Morris and now SJ don't want to play for us.

I'd almost be happy to let them all go provided we got our money back. Give the young guys who actually want to be there a go.

Wonder if the boys can get to the airport in time for the red eye flight home?
I reckon they spent more time getting through baggage check than they did on the field.

Nines mean nothing. Like Ronnies fire. Chad still ****, possibly worse defence.
bit of a useless tournament. doesn't give the players that much of a hit out and not even as entertaining or fun as it should be. while not representative of proper NRL yet it still brought back memories of the problems this squad has

will prob carve up the trials to give some false hope

Glad the club took this tournament seriously.
shame we didn't win - could have used the cash

Titans, Bulldogs, Knights, Penrith, Dragons... look for West Tigers to win now in NRL bizarro land
Think this says it all about the nines
(plus the cows win it)

We're playing the long game here.

Play like **** so the Perth fans refuse to accept our relocation

sneaky NRL will send us over as the 'Marlins' or some ****. spose we play like frauds, may as well be rebranded as them

Josh Morris carrying on like he doesn't want to be a Shark...
embraced a bulldog after his first try, no sharks teammates in site. confirmed leaving the club

Ronnie just handing out some of his kit to the kids on his way out!
Boots and caps etc

**** Ronnie leaving too?

Cowboys win the 9s yawn
they have 2 Nines tournament wins now - but will never have an Amco :)

suck a massive turd to them

Flanno knows a doctor or two though...

Our campaign would have been far more comforting if Jeff Robson was recalled.

Called it pre tourney. Robbo could have locked down the middle third with his grass cutters allowing Chad & SJ to focus on butchering opportunities out wide

haha future 9s Immortal

C'mon now bort, the boys work hard in the gym so they don't have to on game day
