Great White Shark's ratings for Cronulla vs Wests Tigers (NRL Premiership, Round 1, 2012)

3 Points - Isaac De Gois: brilliant defence. Very dangerous out of dummy half. Put on hits when we needed them most. (8/10)
2 Points - Todd Carney: second half showed why he is so dangerous. If he gets injured goodbye 2012. (8/10)
1 Point - Wade Graham: great defence. For a young bloke he leads well. (7/10)

- Nathan Gardner: generally safe. Would like to have seen more in attack (6/10)
- John Williams: did not see much from our 2-5 (5/10)
- Ben Pomeroy: the team is carrying him. We depserately need a young, fast, strong, smart centre (5/10)
- Colin Best: his experience is a positive. (5/10)
- Matthew Wright: cost us the first try, his dropped ball cost us the second try. He is ok but cant see him as a long term winger (4/10)
- Bryce Gibbs: great first game. Never stopped, even dived at the Marshal field goal (7/10)
- Ben Ross: not sure what this experiment is about. He is ok but well over the hill (6/10)
- Jeremy Smith: went MIA too often. (5/10)
- Anthony Tupou: see J Smith (5/10)
- Paul Gallen: Good solid game. Our depth in forwards will help him. Not sure why he did not argue with the ref re the Best try..."but sir" (7/10)
- Andrew Fifita: Big boy. Needs to learn how to run straighter. He has prospects but needs to channel his strong point. (6/10)
- Sam Tagataese: good off the bench without doing anything special (6/10)
- John Morris: ok. Given his expereince late in the game I expected him too really dominate out of dummy half coming off the bench..he didnt (5/10)
- Jayson Bukuya: Good off the bench, some good hits and runs. (6/10)

Ramzyv1's ratings for Cronulla vs Wests Tigers (NRL Premiership, Round 1, 2012)

3 Points - Bryce Gibbs: Really impressed.
2 Points - Todd Carney: He will get better but he showed some great signs. His try gave us something we haven't had in the halves for a long time.
1 Point - Ben Pomeroy: Really impressed with Pom. Shows he can be damaging when he controls his errors and has a good half to work with.

- Nathan Gardner: Not his best but he will gto fine this year. Showed moments.
- John Williams: Expected more but still probably our best winger. Can't believe he wasn't starting originally.
- Colin Best: See Poms. That double movement was dumb though, we could have scored off the next play.
- Matthew Wright: Feel bad for saying this but he was terrible. Just looked off the pace and outclassed.
- Andrew Fifita: Hope for more considering he was out to prove something.
- John Morris: Really good to have him on the bench. Key to our side.

Jaz's ratings for Cronulla vs Wests Tigers (NRL Premiership, Round 1, 2012)

3 Points - Todd Carney: If he can play the full 80 like he played the 2nd half then he'll have a great year. Obviously he missed a couple of goals and should have aborted the FG attempt when he had players in his face. (8/10)
2 Points - Isaac De Gois: Great game, God we've missed a good hooker. Good try, good running from dummy half and it was great how he'd get out of the line quickly to put the hit on - not often knocking the player down but always slowing them to an almost halt and halving their meters. (8/10)
1 Point - Colin Best: One of Best's best games for us, Carney brought him out of his shell but that double movement (which I would call a double movement every day of the week) was stupid purely as it was only tackle 2. (8/10)

- Nathan Gardner: He'll have a better game without Wright getting in his way & cramps cramping his style (6/10)
- John Williams: Should be our first picked winger along Mills (6/10)
- Ben Pomeroy: A solid game by Pommers, looked strong (7/10)
- Matthew Wright: One of his worst games. Horrible positioning - I love him but needed to be dropped as he's just not a winger. (3/10)
- Wade Graham: Strong game, I was really pleased with his level headedness - a couple of times he made breaks on an early tackle and took the tackle instead of going for the miracle chip/pass (7/10)
- Bryce Gibbs: Solid game, good worker - just what was expected. (7/10)
- Ben Ross: Same as Gibbs. (7/10)
- Jeremy Smith: Strong game, made a couple of really great tackles through chasing the marker & not giving up when other players would. (8/10)
- Anthony Tupou: Very strong in defense, although I'd prefer him as an impact player off the bench. (7/10)
- Paul Gallen: Not as superhuman as he can be, but that's fine considering he's been sick and has had 0 trial game time. (8/10)
- Andrew Fifita: Decent, wasn't really swayed either way. (7/10)
- Sam Tagataese: Solid although he's wasted taking hit ups in the middle and should be used as a gap-running wide second rower. (6/10)
- John Morris: Good impact when he came on. (7/10)
- Jayson Bukuya: Really impressive, was good just like he was last year. Has to be in the 17 somewhere, I'd have him starting & being replaced by Tupou. (8/10)

Blix's ratings for Cronulla vs Wests Tigers (NRL Premiership, Round 1, 2012)

3 Points - Todd Carney: Absolute quality, yes he stuffed up going for the drop goal on first, but besides that, his'running game is lethal, as is his'passing game, and his' kicking game was very good too, every single kick except 1 or max 2, put pressure on the opposition. (Williams could have scored off one if he had not dropped the ball) (9/10)
2 Points - Isaac De Gois: Great game, very aggressive in defense, and darty out of hooker, stoked to have him back. (8/10)
1 Point - Colin Best: Quality, the best game I have seen Best play for us, he was making breaks all over the shop. (8/10)

- Nathan Gardner: Loads of mistakes, not backing up the play anywhere near as much as he use to, out of position for nearly every kick. Looks like he is trying to hide when the bomb gets put up. (4/10)
- John Williams: Good game, very solid in attack and defense, bent the line with his'hitups (7/10)
- Ben Pomeroy: Excellent game, error free (not really tested much on his'line though), some quality runs and aggresive defense (8/10)
- Matthew Wright: Shocking! heaps of mistrakes and he was getting monstered on his'hitups (3/10)
- Wade Graham: Running games was average at best, his kicking game was completely shït, he kicked down their throat every time. I am not saying get rid of him, but I am saying he shouldnt be kicking, his strength is running at the line (6/10)
- Bryce Gibbs: Good game, best of our props this week (7/10)
- Ben Ross: Good game, sets a good platform, hope to see more though! (6/10)
- Jeremy Smith: Good game, very solid (7/10)
- Anthony Tupou: For mine, I still think he is average, one good pass doesnt make a game, he doesnt bend the line in attack, and is not massively involved in defense either. I would rather this spot go to someone else ! (5/10)
- Paul Gallen: probably one of the worst games he will play this year, still a handful though (6/10)
- Andrew Fifita: good game, a much more mature effort then I thought he would produce, hit it up straight, and only really crabbing when the opportunity was there to break the line with fends and offloads, for mine this was exactly what I wanted to see from him! (7/10)
- Sam Tagataese: cräp game, he really struggled bending the line in a conventional prop manner, I have always rated him, but he was shïte on the weekend, not sure if it was the gameplan, but he needs to improve if that is his'permenent role, otherwise Taufua has to come in. (4/10)
- John Morris: Quality game, had good impact (7/10)
- Jayson Bukuya: Quality game, had good impact (7/10)
