If the merge was to ever break, I wouldn't be surprised if they turfed St George, kept Illawarra and rebrand them up as a standalone south coast team.

Whenever they redevelop the Taj Mahal at Kogarah they will go back to one of the richest leagues clubs again

Wouldn’t be surprised if we were having difficulties still due to the massive blowout in the fit out costs for the leagues club. There are only 4 real assets we could sell though, and I can’t see any being sold quietly. Most of those gossip items are just made up too. If there was a club in difficulty, any journalist would write a story about it, not give a tip to other media

Might have something to do with Souths? There was something the other week about Rusty selling his stake which seemed to get rubbished pretty quick. Maybe they were barking up the right tree just at the wrong branch?

Or as SF said, it’s all bullshit. I agree if anyone had that story they would be running it. Maybe they do have it but not enough details to make the story yet and they are throwing some bait out to see if they can get more.

It is written as though the asset is already sold too, and was purchased by the NRL.

Would the NRL buy out random shop space we own? I wouldn’t have thought so?
Maybe if a general NRL store appears there soon we will know!

Crazy that we'd possibly be in that situation again. Hopefully the new club can open soon and pull good revenue to make up for the losses.

Wouldn't be us, we are profitable each year and have no current debt. Money is put aside for the fit out of the leagues club.
