Even in our good run I didn't think we really looked a premiership threat personally.

The Melbourne win was a gritty one, but it was a game played without both teams halfbacks and their fullback. We had a great shoot out with the chooks, but it wasn't really a finals-style game. Beat the Broncos without anyone in their side and got flogged by an understrength Penrith. I still think we'll finish in that 4-6 range and I think that's a decent representation of where we are.

More games into Tricky and Iro as starters is a great positive to take out of this year. If we can win a finals game I'll be happy with the season.
I keep trying to remember that winning a final was my goal for the year. My expectations got inflated with our great run earlier.

IMO, it's time to start building for next season. I would be giving more games to Stonestreet. I would also be giving more game time to Big Tuks. And even possibly give some minutes to Healy.

Tuks has a fractured finger I’ve heard so might be out for a couple more weeks.

We're in the top 4, we play our best team every week.
Yeah I know things aren’t going fantastic but starting to look to next season already is insane

We lost to a fringe top 8 team desperate for wins to try and beat out a pack, with our halfback, fullback (had to run 4th choice) and one of our best forwards out, plus another forward who potentially would have started.

They had Luki, Hess and maybe a fringe forward out.

As much as it’s nice to have been in the game and be able to say we should have done this or that and won from a neutral standpoint I’d expect most teams with our kind of outs to lose an away game like that

Agree with this, but losing Lolo and Cotter in the opening 20 was huge. We definitely weren't at a disadvantage after that IMO.

They got an 18th man activated though, and JT hasn’t been that much this season. Not a huge loss.

Drinkwater Dearden Townsend Robson vs Ison Atkinson Trindall Brailey

Two SOO players in their spine, even the arguably worst is a vet with grand final winning experience.

We’d be expecting our team still to win with a forward or two injured early but that much spine disparity.

Even when Cotter went off we got disrupted by a centre going off for 15 minutes.

Those injuries are factors but like I said, I think we’d still be expecting ourselves to win that if we were in their position.

If our left edge defence doesn't improve, it's going to be as bad as the start of last year with Moylan. Teams will be (if not already) be exploiting and commentators make running comment each week.

Will be interesting to see how to goes with Stonestreet. I'm expecting a few will get let in (due to his inexperience), but just want to see if he defends similarly to Ronnie or hangs back just a fraction.

Do you think it has consistently been an issue though? Couple of shaky games for sure (Eels / Cows) but otherwise I think it’s been a team-wide issue more than any one group. Left edge not really an issue in the Dolphins-Dogs-Titans losing streak.

Time will tell I suppose. We've had the odd loose try scored that way. Maybe teams are exporting more now (or maybe I'm just frustrated we let Felt score 3 tries!!)

Has anyone ever sat in the Restricted View rows at the front of the bays? About the only affordable tickets unless your team is in it.

Doesn't matter where they're born remember, it's where they first played 1st grade. In any case, Tamou was the one that was the last straw for me. Haven't given a **** about origin since.
I believe @Gumby is suggesting only indigenous players should be eligible for Origin through tightened eligibility rules. Bold stance, mate.
