Yeah so they play for Oz rather than their home country just to play that filthHasnt been done after that, not allowed to play origin if you've played for NZ or England

Thats in QLD
Doesn't matter where they're born remember, it's where they first played 1st grade. In any case, Tamou was the one that was the last straw for me. Haven't given a **** about origin since.Willie Mason
James Tamou

All born in Nz played for nsw. Goes both ways.
Nah not first grade, juniors.Doesn't matter where they're born remember, it's where they first played 1st grade. In any case, Tamou was the one that was the last straw for me. Haven't given a **** about origin since.
Yeh, I remember they changed the rules shortly before Ronnie was picked in 2021:Nah not first grade, juniors.
It's more complex than that.Yeh, I remember they changed the rules shortly before Ronnie was picked in 2021:
"Mulitalo moved from New Zealand to Australia when he was 14 years old. Under the latest Origin eligibility rules, a player must have lived in either state before they turned 13 - if they were not born in Queensland or NSW, or had a father who played in Origin"
Pretty sure if you were born in NSW then move to QLD and played footy up there you could choose either.
But If you come from another country you must do so before turning 13 to play origin.
What if their mum did? It's more complex than that.
There are 6 questions for anyone born in NSW or QLD. Majority applies. Father playing origin trumps all other rules.
The "choice" is only for players born outside Qld/NSW who qualify (E.g. Taumalolo) who can choose to play for NZ or Qld.
These rules have been in place since 2012, but someone stuffed up Ronnie's eligibility for U18 and U20 origin, so it was only in 2021 that people took notice of them.

‘These old legs are coming to an end’: Munster set for double hip surgery
Cameron Munster returns from a lengthy injury lay-off for ladder leaders Melbourne – but confirmed he will require double hip surgery at the end of the year.www.smh.com.au
Origin has been a farce for over a decade. Ever since they cracked down on the biffo after all of Queensland cried like bitches when Gal put one on Nate Myles' Cleary sized chin it's become a sanitised glorified All Stars game and allowed players like Smith & Thurston to get away with the grubby **** they got away with on a regular basis for the rest of their careers. All the grubby **** we see in the game now stems from that.Perfect example of Origin being a complete farce
Injury doesn't help, so doesn't the effort too. We operate at 70% and hope the other teams are poo. What a nosedive this season has taken. It’s so disappointing to watch.
Didn't watch game 3?Origin has been a farce for over a decade. Yeah. its like "where to from here" for this team. Seems pretty unimaginable, we can win 3 in a row in a semi environment, to make a GF, from here. What a nosedive this season has taken. It’s so disappointing to watch.
They made the call early in the week before flying up. Plus a big difference between the two standardsDid Royce Hunt make a miraculous recovery? Seemed healthy enough for nsw cup but too sick for 1st grade haha
Ahhh gotcha!! Still very bizarre. Hopefully he didn't make the nsw cup team sickThey made the call early in the week before flying up. Plus a big difference between the two standards
Playing most of the year with our best 3 forwards (coming into the season) off the park/underdone doesn't help. What a wasted opportunity this year. Should have comfortably had the top 4 (if not top 2) locked in.
Looks to me we over-trained in the pre-season and peaked too early. We look tired and disinterested in getting our hands dirty.
Coaching staff need a real hard look at what has happened, from Nov 1 last year until now.
That's very true and would somewhat explain why guys like Tom are spent.Playing most of the year with our best 3 forwards (coming into the season) off the park/underdone doesn't help.
