Think Sifa deserves alot of credit for the humility he's shown and his genuine support for Kayal getting his shot at his expense.
You could make an argument that he was the best centre in the league on form in the opening few weeks of comp.

Sifa only a few years older than Iro, not like it's a 32 year old making way for a 24 year old - a good attitude turn around from when he basically fell out of the nrl on the back of thinking he was better than everyone

Iro's future could be as much about Talakai's performance/usage as a forward as his own form at centre. Especially as more troops return (and hopefully injury toll going forward not too punishing)

It's in Iro's hands now for me, Sifa has already shown his worth as an impact forward off the bench in previous seasons

If Iro absolutely brains it in the 2-3 games he gets, he should hold the spot.

Alternatively, if he does fairly well and so does Sif in the middle, then he holds the spot whilst we have middle injuries/gets a crack anytime we do.

Collectively they need to do enough for Fitz to think that the left edge is humming and any gap between Sifa and Hunt/Tuks off the bench is negated.

So if Ito goes solid/well and Sifa struggles you’d just drop Sifa to Cup for returning forwards?

The only way Sifa gets dropped IMO is if Iro is the next coming of GI at centre.

Iro was great last week, but without doing anything Sifa wasn't in the first few rounds.

I personally don't see him struggling if he moves to the bench long-term but it's certainly a fair question.

I wouldn’t be dropping him unless he's truly horrendous for an extended period of time.
We also tend to run a 4 forward bench so if he is struggling at full strength the other 3 take majority minutes but he's still our best option in #17 with ability to cover backline.

Iro has to be consistent with his output though, as I said it's his job to keep sifa on the bench, I don’t expect him to be elite but just being solid might not be enough.

I'm not attempting to advocate for Iro over Sifa, just so that's clear, just responding to the question

Just saw Fitz’s press conference today and he’s says Toby’s a good chance for the game Saturday night but Braden? No.

Seems strange when in pre season BHU said he’d only miss the first game or two.

Wasn't there talk pre season that BHU was aiming for after the bye?

Yeah I get that, just placing more or less value on Iro's repsonsibility.

TBF that was what, two, three months ago? It's educated guesswork at that point, and assuming no issues.
