Too close for comfort for 60 minutes. We dodged a few bullets in the first half but defense was good. That's the main positive because the attack still needs a lot of work.
Still a win's a win, and it was overall a good early season performance. Lots of positive signs.
And just how ****ing good was the impact off the bench of our twin towers?

Up Up and all that.

2 games, 3 tries conceded. Will take that.

The attack will gel more with time, nicho and trindell havent played that many games together as yet

I'm a bit more worried about the attack. It was clunky at times last year as well. Hopefully it clicks in the next few weeks.

We got the rub of the green last night , well
And truly. dDifferent game if some of those decisions go against us. Happy for the win but we have a fair bit to clean up
Yeah I wonder if old mate didn’t get knocked out 5 seconds in so already a man down, kikau stays down longer straight after contact (not enough for a cat1 cause he wants to stay on the field) the ref sends Britt, with it being early rounds of the season then the whole line in the sand etc etc.

…..….….. only for the NRL to then relax its stance and focus on something totally different (like pulling hair or something stupid)

On calls going our way.. what was the decision around Ronnie’s try? I watched it with no commentary.

Talakai intentionally kicked it but was a drop kick or he’s just kicked it they reckon?

Was definitely an intentional kick. Drop kick in that situation is irrelevant. Whether it touched his foot or not is another story.

Everyone carrying on about the mutual infringement call, really there was no other way that could be ruled.

Yeah I thought we got lucky a few times. The mutual infringement was the right call, but lucky as tricky never stops him there. Two 'catch' attempts from Ramien that were 10 times worse than Wills last week that was penalised. I think we scored off the second which could have easily been a baulking or tackled in the air pen. The Talakai kick looked borderline simultaneous, but it was probably a 50/50 too.

Dogs played with heart, and crossed the stripe 3 times. They won't be such easy beats this year.

20.0 on the clock. Ciraldo having a Sticky-like whinge about the refs

Sharks presser at 30.20
Ha ha I thought ciraldo was funny.
“Be good to get a 80/20 call”
We did get lucky on the kikau high shot that hit across chest. But calls are calls if they didn’t burn theirs on the taffe one I guess they could have challenged it. Power to the dogs if they bring that tenacity and game plan of trying to put teams on tilt, they will get wins. I want us to feel uncomfortable and have to find ways to win especially in the early rounds, running out and winning 26-0 IMHO does nothing in terms of making us a better team in bigger games.

Yeah so bunker ruling he kicked it with his foot. I’ll have to watch it all again closely to see how close he got. Probably got lucky with that one then

Does he mean 40/20?

😉

Ciraldo is just planting the seed in the refs minds for next week.

If sifa drop kicked it, its still legal. The nrl has gone over this plenty. It was always a kick. Not a dropped ball disguised by trying to kick it.
I dont think he actually got boot to ball though

Our attack was clunky as ****, looked awful actually. Hopefully that improves quickly.
It's more important that Trindall is playing....
JK!!

It sure was. Some more promising signs near the end with Will on the sweep, but we shouldn't kid ourselves about cour point scoring. Last week we had a barge over try from Ronnie and this week a lucky accident with Sifa and Ronnie, bot of which were pretty critical.

Nicho and trindall havent even played 10 games together i think i read? Give that time.
Have had a full offseason together though. If anything, I think it's Nicho. He's moving into a traditional Chad halfback style role. Had he run the ball in the last two games?
