Some wild differences in player possession in this one.

Here are the middles in the first half...

McInnes 30%
Kaufusi 32%
Hunt 35%
Williams 46%
Hazelton 57%
Rudolf 61%

Team was 42%

Huge swing. Warriors coach will not be happy with the way they took their foot of the throat at the back end of the first half with so many cheap penalties (and dropped balls).

We would need to find another sponsor

But yes, I agree
We did it with Tobacco, so it is possible
I heard that Medreleaf was looking to sponsor a team. Medical weed. Are we ok with weed as a sponsor?

Personally idc, and want it to become legal, but it is weird a place that gives me a prescription for something is advertising. Is there a difference there between that and say, advertising Edones?

Dolphins signed a sponsorship with one the other week.

Ah, it was Alternaleaf..

Ps anyone who is looking to go down that route. They suck ass. Medreleaf is much better.

Am I missing something here? A company that prescribes a schedule 8 drug is sponsoring a footy team?

Sets a dangerous precedent. For sure the NRL pocketed from this too. Little help for the struggling dolphins from their end me thinks

Yeah, I thought it was interesting when I first read it as well.
Very interesting can of worms if a dolphins player was to be photographed or tested positive.

I know alot of American sports have stopped testing for it. Can't see Australia being that proactive however...

You would think a firm stance from the RLPA could probably change that, possibly the NRL has already done it.

If all the guys on the team get prescribed it for whatever reason, would the fact it’s prescribed over rule the test results?

Jeez, it would probably help in so many ways if they come vape some weed at night.

Hopefully see less of a reliance on heavy pain killers because of it. You’d think players would be happier too, not having to worry about losing their job over having it in their system, and considering the job, they could use the edge off.

Still, the whole advertising a schedule 8 drug seems a bit off.

Was stoked to see us go for a short drop out and get the ball back. Hope we can do that a bit more often rather than always going long.

I was terrified. After Ronnie batted it back you couldn't see Kennedy on the camera so it looked like they were going to re-create the Panthers GF effort.

Haha, I did have the same feeling. I'm not sure you can afford not to do it with the new rules. We obviously back our defence, so may as well try get the ball first.

Just depends how chaotically they are going to rule on bat backs being genuine catch attempts or not...

These are the sort of effort and performances (especially defensively and attitude/fitness wise) you need to be capable of if you are to be a genuine premiership threat.

The key pivot is it becoming ingrained as a standard to uphold and not an exception or abnormality. It might be hard to back up and do it every week while not getting complacent but it's what the best teams can do and it's why winning a premiership is so bloody hard.

We have had bigger comebacks before but those were often on the back of a run of ball and blistering attack. We stuck that one out and came back through our defense and that isn't something I could say we have seen enough of post Flanno.

We didn't score amazing trys, we scored determined and well executed trys when the opportunity presented itself, patience was key. Didn't go for miracle plays from half way.

Sharks teams of the past 5 years prob don't win that game after a start like that and being under so much pressure, they prob crumble and it's game over by half time or we butcher it in the second half.

We had a good win against the Warriors at home a few seasons back when we went down to 11 men but that was a different Warriors team who didn't throw as much quality at us and we didn't have a hostile crowd against us.

So that is 2 points away from home most outside the club were not expecting to have kick off our round 1 with. Puts us in a good spot despite being early days season wise but this result is likely to play a factor in who we are facing in the finals and where.

I was gearing up to rip apart the pre-season/pre-game fluff pieces from Hynes, Cam, Dale ect about wanting to be a different and better team, aiming up, being determined ect but after that first 20 mins or so they really did start to live up to their word and showed their belief and desire.

Well done boys
