He was on the juice all through juniors. No way you can be that much bigger than anyone else. Was a ticking time bomb.
Supposedly, but did anyone here actually hear that before he was done?

And yet Bradman Best is the exact same age and even bigger
Best on debut at 18 https://www.newcastleknights.com.au/news/2019/08/24/bradmen-best-the-debut/

Bronson also passed previous tests 6 times apparently

I certainly wouldn't guarantee anyone Bronson never did anything dodgy before he got caught. But evidence he did seems a lot thinner than most people who state it as fact should okay with.

In saying that, from a handful if photos I feel quite strongly he was using during a lot of his ban so maybe I'm just as bad haha

He passed those because he was using an apparent masking agent which was one of the banned substances found in his blood test.

Which could make a good argument that he could of been juicing his entire career.

“His November 25 test was a blood test. His others have been urine tests. The blood test that produced the positive result to a cocktail of banned substances was provided while he was in Cronulla’s rehab group.”

To add to that, I’m pretty sure the only reason they ran the blood test was because they were tipped off he was juicing.

If they didn’t get tipped off he could quite possibly of ran his entire career using that masking agent which is interesting to think about. I have no idea how that product works though so maybe it’s still a huge risk that your urine will still come out hot regardless.

They only do blood tests if its a targeted test, gets a clearer result and can't cheat your blood work.

I feel bad for the kid, walked out on 2 years (I think) at the Warriors. Must have had some bad advice to not have all the boxes ticked first whilst obviously carrying an injury.

Apparently deal agreed (signed?) but not lodged with NRL.
Think RLPA will have some words if there is no caveat like 'pending medical' that would explain failing to lodge it

Interesting article also says he has been spotted at dragons training in a yellow bib "which generally represents a player who can train without a contract"

Flanno might even let Volkman go back to market and then give him an offer on minimum wages, as long as he finds him a cheap boxing ring.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he wound up on a dev or T&T deal with them - wanting to hold onto him but not prepared to make same investment while injured

So their halves options are
  • Flanju they'd intended as a 14/9
  • Bird
  • Paul Turner
  • sign or loan someone
Making Flanju 6 leaves them with just Liddle as a 9 and puts Flanju back in the halves hot seat that hasn't done him any favours.
If Bird had to jump in for a game, sure. But I don't love him as a season long option
Turner would have to take things up a couple notches.
As for loan, someone like Jack Cole or Laurie from Panthers could be mutually beneficial, potentially another club with a half likely to retire/move on soon who has a backup that could use an extended stint of nrl

Feels like things could be falling into place for Flanno Jnr

Plenty of excuses for the old man to slot him in without the appearance of favouritism.

Maybe he knew Volkman was volkswurst.

Yeah, I have some questions/concerns with the way this has ended up for him.
