It feels like there is a storm coming regarding concussions, tackle technique, kick offs and head-on-head contact.
I think we are going to see some big changes to the way the game looks in the next few years to reduce this as much as possible.
NRL physio and a bunch of other commentators online have been quite vocal in that the best way to reduce risk is to change tackle technique to lower the point of contact. I see this as the potential net positive for the game. Reduce concussion, and as a byproduct, have less first contact that wraps up the ball, increasing second-phase opportunities.
Knowing the NRL they will just get rid of kick offs though.
