Grant Atkins is the BUNKER Official for our game today , he was the BUNKER Official sticking his nose in, making ludicrous calls in Raiders debacle .
Does anyone know if there's any particular BUNKER Official or referee that has given US a few BAD rub of the green games ?

Refreshing to have you back egg but does the bunker make any GOOD decisions to start with?

Apologies if already mentionedā€¦.(I know Nichoā€™s has been)

Late Mail: Lachlan Fitzgibbon, Jackson Hastings and Kurt Mann have been omitted from the team 24 hours out from kick off. Hastings is still battling an ankle inury while Fitzgibbon has been ruled out on account of a shoulder niggle.
Late Mail: Halfback Nicho Hynes has beenruled out of Sundayā€™s game after picking up a quad injury at training. Matt Moylan has moved into the halves. Jesse Colquhoun has joined the bench.

So Iro not playing for the jets then!

That will hurt them.
Donā€™t get me wrong, Iā€™d like to see him on the NRL bench but if he isnā€™t going to play, then Newtown could use him
Itā€™s unlikely that he plays, but there arenā€™t actually any rules preventing him playing for the Jets. Players have been 18th or 19th man before after playing NSW Cup.
Iro is playing.

Only in the NRL is there this much talk about officials before a game.
Hereā€™s my take on.this. Last 3 years I have always pic the favourites for our work tipping comps. I figure the tab knows better than me.

Iā€™ve come first in our AFL tipping comp and in the top 10 but never better than 7th for NRL, imo that shows how much influence the refs have over a game, the rub of the green generally is spread more evenly because there are multiple umpires one person Doesnā€™t have almost compete control of the game.

A try in nrl is worth so much more than a goal and they are easier to score, & possession can turn quickly in afl even after a poor call.

Could be coincidence but just my observation and I know **** all about afl

And in conclusion, NRL refs are ****s

Thanks Western,
Bunker should ONLY be for checking tries , captains challenges and MAJOR foul play missed on the field...
Otherwise let POST game reciews take care of the rest

And their Charter when reviewing tries should be to only look at any obvious reason to change a decision

Not to forensically look at every millisecond to try and find a reason to reverse the decision.

I like this..
and also obvious Forward passes.
Yeh there's no reason they can't look at obvious forward passes. If they can tell due to camera angle then so be it.

Mind you I reckon there are only a few that you could argue due to camera. Most are blatant

Yep.

Marginally forward let go by touchie/ref are to hard for bunker to call on so itā€™s just what it is, but obvious forwards ones definitely and ones called forward which are ā€œflatā€ to be overturned and try awarded (if possible).

Scary isnā€™t it

unfortunately that is because they give people something to talk about when they should be ā€œbest seen not heardā€œ and not centre of attention due to some of the questionable decisions being called (bunker included)

Hynes being out sucks, but those are some big outs for Newcastle.

Fitzgibbon has been amazing for them and Mann and really hit some form the past 5 or so weeks, being a big impact for them off the bench (particularly in defence).

It sucks because this was looking to be a stellar game if both sides were full strength.

Yeh but considering their players out, prob not a bad time to rest Hynes before the semis.

Just hoping Hynesā€™ injury is minimal as **** and the rest is very much just precautionary

Especially after whatā€™s happened with Luai and Metcalf this week.

I imagine both sides are being precious with their players niggles.

Hynes is ok. He could have played if it was semi's. They just didn't want to risk him. May not play next week depending on the results this week and next. We want 5th or 6th so assume we will need to win 1 game.
