The NRL are still making up for the 7 tackle try we scored against them. You'd think they would be over it by now!

Didn't they also score one against us? Or something else controversial, can't remember off top of my head.

And you ****s get on this forum and bitch about those exact thing every ****ing week mate.

I dont agree with a team tanking, i dont need you to agree with me.
That's fine, I'm not saying you are wrong or can't not like it, I'm just highlighting I think there are other factors which have similar impacts
You don't like it? Me either - I don't think it's fixable

I don't think the Cowboys (or any team for that matter) should get to play the consistently best team in the comp (Panthers) in the final round 2 years running due to Panthers likelihood to rest players following a very likely successful regular season.. It's not like they have some famous rivalry or special annual round between themselves that locks this schedule in.

Someone has to play them in the final round but it should be rotated around to other teams, perhaps a team from last years bottom 4 - gives them a chance at a moral boosting win but won't effect the outcome of the Top 8 (assuming bottom 4 team has had another crap year) or just completely randomize it so it's fair but their are TV and logistic schedules to meet so it will never be completely random for a NRL draw.

The draw is complex and is swings and round-da-bouts

Cowboys have to play Panthers twice, we only have to face them once

Season after season we seem to get gifted x2 games against Dragons, Tigers & Bulldogs - I don't know why (outside of Dragons) but these are all near certain wins for us
That is a bit suspect isn't it - to also get a game against them in Origin when Panthers are guaranteed to be missing multiple
I know Cows had guys out too but both halves and 13 who is crucial in their structure were basically guaranteed to be out that round.

Cows play Panthers twice and could walk away with 'two wins vs a top 8 side' despite not playing Cleary once potentially. Muddies the 'top 8 wins' narrative a bit

I always laugh about our supposed “soft draw” last year.

We played, and pumped Manly and Knights twice each who were finalists the year before, we had equal amounts of games vs the 2021 top 8 and bottom 8 teams, really what you woukd consider the fairest of draws.

Manly and Knights fell off a cliff, i think Titans were also top 8 in 2021 who we accounted for. Beat souths (grand finalists year before) abd melbourne in regular season games, along with beating eventual grand finalists in Parra, plus Cowboys mid season too. But we had a “soft draw”
