Maybe just me but every time i've seen the Cowboys win well this season it appears as tho they played like the Harlem Globe Trotters , heaps of off loads and throwing it about and hail Mary's , if we can keep the ruck tight , an area they exploit well , especially Deardon , and keep the off loads to a minimum then i believe we are the better team .
Deardon is what you could see Tricky becoming. Think I have a little footy-crush on Deardon...

Yep. The type of game we hate playing against. Canberra and Warriors seem to do it against us.

You're right - keep it tight and we should be OK

Just realised I have double booked myself for this game tonight.

I've got a cricket club committee meeting on at 7.30pm and I accepted the meeting forgetting the Sharks were playing on the same night.

It's in a local club so not much chance of not seeing the score! :(

Has it been mentioned that we’ve beaten the Cowboys 9 out of the last 10 times we played them? There was of course one loss. Footy is a cruel game.

Our last three loses to them have been in the finals I believe

I've read all the articles and previews, listened to the podcasts (just about to listen to Sams) and while I love how we have been playing over the past two weeks, I am in no way confident as most that we will go up to Townsville and get the 2 points.

We have had great results but Thursday night will be 3 games in 12 days and this is tough. Cows have Nanai back, JT's 250th game, and plenty of dangers in Dearden, Drinkwater etc.

Referee is Adam Gee, who is not too bad but we have the clown prince of all refs Chris Butler in the bunker. It is a cliche but if we keep up our good defence and completions we certainly can win. But with all the travel, the warmer climate in Townsville and the home crowd baying for blood, I think we will find it very hard to get this win.

Motivation for the Cowboys is easy. They have to win to keep in the race for the 8 and they will want to get the win for JT and his milestone. Also, I reckon they were very embarrassed about how we thumped them earlier in the year at Shark Park and they will want revenge for that.

For us, it seems silly to say but if we lose, we can still make the 8 by winning 1 of our 2 remaining games.

I do hope we win. I do hope we work hard and make our tackles and look good in attack. But I am worried that we won't have enough gas in the tank to get the job done.
The boys have been here since Monday, and its not particularly warm this week, so they should have no problem acclimatizing. Its the perfect time for the OOT's to play here

Good to hear!

But don't forget, a not too warm day up there for you guys, is probably much warmer than we have it down in Sydney. Looks like around 27 degrees there at the moment, that is way above our normals here. Of course, it will be closer to 21 by kick off time but that is still warmer than the night time games of around 13-15 degrees here.

Hopefully they have acclimatised!

Hasn’t it been real warm in Sydney not too long ago?

Not really mate. I've been wearing a jumper to work every day during winter. I'm one that feels the heat pretty well so if it was hot, I wouldn't be wearing my jumper.

We had about 23-24 degrees one weekend during the day. That was about as hot as it got.

Oh it was like 19 degrees and clear when team came here and Toby was complaining 'I thought Perth was meant to be warm, we've been having great weather in Sydney'

Probably humid too... it always seems sweatier than Belzebubs bumcrack outside of mid-winter

Penrith...
I'm up here and whether feels fine. Not humid at all and only a little warmer then I'm used to.
I'm normally used to Penrith weather so can confirm what Townsvilletigershark is saying.

So you're going to believe him against a local boy who has lived here all his life?

Actually I was thinking he was carrying on but... isn't he a local boy who has lived there all his life bar like 1-2 years in Qld?
