Because the goal posts shift all the time. If the Bulldogs go on a run & wind up 8th in a month did we put 48 on a top 8 team? Depends what story you're trying to tell.

If you say last year's top 8 ok at least thats set. But still not very solid as a few of them not going so well & we just lucked our way to 2nd so maybe last year means nothing this year. Again depends what story you're trying to tell.

The goal posts are moving but only because not every team has played each other yet. So the real top 8 is only just now starting to really evolve.
