Is Gus Gould the rugby league messiah everyone thinks he is?

I don't think so.
the problem with gus is he thinks he knows more than he actually does, and he has no plan what so ever when building a squad

that team is crying out for a halfback, he spent all that money on crichton to come play fullback when averillo is probably better at the back and is now going to walk

then they are looking to bring in lodge and may

as a coach he was fantastic, but as a GM, no

Does he get near first grade if his dad isn't who he is?
Would certainly help, but his Aquinas team won I think 10 premierships in a row, so it didn’t come from nothing (similar story with Chad). Even the most average NRL player runs rings around most other footy players

It is crazy they are spending so much in the outside backs and probably will lose Averillo and Alamoti when they just need a half and to fix there pack.

Also spent big money on kikau and a bloke playing in the halves who is a centre

Mahoney is struggling in that set up. The dogs have been screaming for a spine for years and as usual they've got it completely wrong

And they’re fans talked so much **** during the pre season about how they were “back”. Absolutely delightful its blown up in their faces yet again.

I still think Burton could be a gun fullback but that's just me.

The young kid playing 6 atm is a talent but needs more time, his body isn't ready for first grade yet.

Burton is fine as a 6 (not a halfback though), they need a dominant half. Would play well next to a guy like Trindall IMO
if there were less teams Burton would be a centre, with 17 teams I think he is probably in the top 17 5/8s

Could also see him being a good FB but he is a decent sized frame so he'd have to handle the running or be another Latrell where when you inject yourself it needs to be really top notch stuff

3pts between 8th & 14th. The top 8 can change quickly. Like we beat teams who used to be in the 8 but they don't count now. Its such a bullshit narrative.
Why is it a bullsht narrative ?

It fits the team perfectly, the principle is we can’t beat good competitive teams, the only team that is of note we beat this year is Eels when tricky johns was 7

Tricky johns is such a good name. Funniest thing you've said I reckon @sharks2010

What do you think about this anyway, 2010?

Because the goal posts shift all the time. If the Bulldogs go on a run & wind up 8th in a month did we put 48 on a top 8 team? Depends what story you're trying to tell.

If you say last year's top 8 ok at least thats set. But still not very solid as a few of them not going so well & we just lucked our way to 2nd so maybe last year means nothing this year. Again depends what story you're trying to tell.
