A 5th tackle kick doesn’t always need to be a kick we need to try score off, we seem to have no regard or interest in trying for an opposition restart from under the posts.

Personally I wouldn’t, no. I’m not a fan. But I just can’t see Fitz dropping him no matter how bad he plays. It’s a real dilemma.

Probably cause Fitz might want to play it safe with having an experienced and senior half in Moylan in the squad.

Maybe Moylan's calmness just compliments Hynes ability to panic play at times? Which sounds dumb cause once the responsibility is on Moylan, we go nowhere.

I was disappointed with how many times our attack failed last night. Overall, I thought we had many opportunities to score points. However, our execution just didn't seem to work.

With teams starting to perfect the short drop out, the risk of a repeat set is lower and teams like to try to get the opposition starting their next set from 2-3 m out stuck in a corner.

Im not suggesting that you still shouldn’t try for one but I think the order of priority MIGHT have changed a bit

1. score - best case scenario
2. changeover 2-3 m out and in a corner (ie play the long game re Field position and be closer on the next attacking set)
3. Get a six again call from the ref
4. kick for a repeat set (risk giving away a 7 tackle set or short drop out and turning over possession anyway but 10-20 m out.

or I could be totally wrong, but just a thought. 🤔

You're not wrong. But we're 100% in on scoring or nothing so even a 60/40 chance off a drop out is better than giving the ball back.

The reality is ; the way we are playing and if keep with the same line-up

We are better then none of those teams, actually nowhere near as complete as any of them
I agree @Wiz - although I’d put us about on par with Raiders.

I’m just saying there is a pretty good chance we make the top 4. Unfortunately I can’t see us getting it done at the business end because we can’t seem to match it with those teams.

Yeah I get nervous as soon as they say he’s earned a repeat set. Like you say, it’s no longer guaranteed and it’s a good rest for the defending team, and a good morale boost if they get it back.

But I guess a good kick to the in goal should be aimed at leading to #1 (a try) first of all, with the other options secondary outcomes. I feel like most of our kicks last night just were indecisive. Even the maligned Trindall grubber, at least he knows what he wants.

I feel like raiders will roll us .. to beat raiders we need to play the long game, kick into corners, bore them to a pulp

It’s like last year when we came second and everyone on here was like look we came second we are so good but in reality the realists knew we definitely weren’t the second best team

Raiders defence is pretty shaky, it would be a bit of a shoot out.

But I agree about everything else. Cowboys were not 3rd place team either. That 2nd vs 3rd match as entertaining as it was, you could see that neither team were going to win it

Yeah I have wondered if the week of from an attacking perspective did us more harm than good.

I dont think it would have helped. We have another bye pretty soon too. Hoping we can snag some a couple wins and get all our troops back to try get back in a groove before the finals come up.

Sharks:
Storm (a), Dogs (h), Bye, Dragons (h), Tigers (a), Warriors (a), Manly (h), Panthers (a), South’s (a), Titans (h), Cows (a), Knights (a) Raiders (h)

Storm:
Sharks (h), Tigers (a), Manly (h), Panthers (h), Bye, Roosters (a), Knights (a), Eels (h), Panthers (a), Raiders (h), Dragons (a), Titans (h), Broncos (a)

Raiders:
Warriors (h), Bye, Roosters (a), Titans (h), Dragons (a), Bye, Warriors (a), Knights (h), Tigers (h), Storm (a), Dogs (h), Broncs (h), Sharks (a)

All teams currently on 18 points, Storm will be 20 if they win tomorrow.

The last couple of rounds these teams face each other, could well be decided there. Raiders have a great set of fixtures leading into the final month
So Broncos at home again till mid - late July - may as well just stay at home all year ..

They did defend very well last night I have to admit ..

Although I am still annoyed we didn't win a game which we should have won. It was there for the taking. I was expecting us to lose all week.
