Only just saw the highlights. Last week, the first 25 minutes were near perfect. This week, well, not so much. Redcliffe didn't even need 'Hometown' Atkins to get the job done. Congrats Wayne, I suppose.

Should ask to have the Magic Round bye next year.

So the question is, how do we recover from a loss like this?

Does it feel like the Warriors loss? And by that I mean we lost a game we were heavily favoured to win.

Did the occasion get to us?

Does playing at Suncorp and in Magic Round just not suit us?

What are the answers? How do we pick ourselves up to play Manly next weekend?

I know we all hate losses but that one I think makes us all feel pretty ****.

The dolphins are a good side. Combine that with the extra lift QLD sides get from magic round, and we needed to be on to win. They wanted it more.

I believe that we aren't just there yet as a team. Don't get me wrong, when we click we are a pretty decent side, but it looks like we are missing something..is it that mongrel? Big game experience?

We lack a real mongrel prop.We dont have an enforcer. We dont seem to have a plan B when our pet plays dont work

It’s a lesson learned.

In reality this is still a very young team outside a couple of old stalwart forwards.

The biggest difference between us and a side like Penrith at the moment is the experience to be able to turn up each week.

There could be some players that either aren’t up to that, or some that don’t fit long term, but that’s the crux of the issue that only time and losses like this will fix.

For the record i think magic round is great fun. I was at the games last night and it was a full on carnival atmosphere, few beers at Caxton st and the walk down to the ground, people singing and having a ball.

The only downer was we played like turds.
Atkins is a **** and we always seem to get a raw deal with him , but I don’t think it would have made a difference with any other ref.

And coming from me that speaks volumes.

We were diabolically ****, and we don’t seem to have a leader to follow when it gets tough.

Honestly we are a bunch of flat track bullies to use a cricketing term. We need to be made of better stuff than that to win a comp.

Dolphins were near perfect in that first half, I don’t think many teams would have beaten them, given all the calls going their way. Still they exposed plenty of weaknesses, including susceptibility to offloads, highlighting our lack of offloads in return.

As we don’t really have any other great forward options, I think we should give Trindall a go against one of these more physical teams. Hynes and Moylan are magic against the weaker teams, but their styles seem too similar against tough teams.

Fitz said in the presser that missed tackles that the system was good with a few broken parts, players. He said that missed tackles are an attitude thing and that’s personal. I think he was talking about one of these players - nicho, wk, teig, Brailey, ramien. Has to come from this list.

Edit: delete missed tackles from the start of my post please.
