Which Cronulla Sharks NRL players are under most pressure ahead of the 2023 NRL season?

The most pressure is currently on star half backs Shaun Johnson and Chad Townsend. They are both expected to lead the team from the halves and help take Cronulla back to the top of the NRL ladder. Other players under pressure include fullbacks Matt Moylan and Will Kennedy, wingers Sione Katoa and Ronaldo Mulitalo, prop forwards Andrew Fifita and Aaron Woods, locks Scott Sorensen, Wade Graham and Tonie Carroll, five-eighth Matt Ikuvalu and halves pairing Josh Schuster and Braydon Trindall.

The players under the most pressure heading into the 2023 NRL season include Jack Wighton of the Canberra Raiders, Cameron Munster of the Melbourne Storm, Ben Hunt and Zac Lomax of the St George Illawarra Dragons [1], Jesse Colquhoun of the Cronulla Sharks and Shaun Johnson of the New Zealand Warriors. All of these players have large roles to play in their respective teams and will have to perform if their teams are to have a successful season.

Lewis Murphy 'agrees' deal with NRL powerhouse as Wakefield Trinity brace to lose star

Super League looks set to lose another of its top talents following reports that Wakefield Trinity winger Lewis Murphy has signed an NRL contract. According to the Daily Telegraph, the 20-year-old has 'agreed to terms' on a two-year contract with Sydney Roosters in a deal that will begin ahead of the 2024 season.

Murphy, who is off-contract at the end of the season, was the competition's breakout talent in 2022, scoring 17 tries in 19 Super League appearances for the West Yorkshire club. That included a four-try haul against Super League champions St Helens back in August.

But he now appears set to join the growing list of young players heading down under early in their career. The report states the deal hasn't yet been signed off but that Murphy is expected to sign the deal that will see him arrive at the 15-time Premiers.

Murphy burst onto the scene last season and quickly announced himself as a first-class finisher, helping Wakefield steer away from relegation. It was hoped within the inner sanctums of the West Yorkshire club that they'd be able to retain him, but he now looks set to follow the path of Tom Johnstone out of the club, a year on from his move to Catalans Dragons.

NRL clubs are making a habit of recruiting young English talent, with Dom Young the prime example in recent years. Murphy is set to play a prominent role for Wakefield this year despite the reports, though it appears this year will be his last before taking on a new venture

Yeah. And it was ****ing outrageous. Especially since we've been to a couple of A-League games there and paid $120 for the whole family... in better seats (well, you just got up and moved to any of the numerous empty seats you preferred, but still...).

I'll probably go to that game, one home game and the GF to watch us beat Penrith. Though most of the games are a non-family friendly times anyway so I wouldn't be going in any case. The NRL really want you to watch games at home.

Had similar stuff before where the math doesn't add up - they must just flick the questions to a bunch of coaches and assistants and see who answers

I'd feel bad for the four reserves watching on the whole game with no interchanges to allow them to enter the field

Some are undecided and flipped between yes and no
Hence the .245 (or there is one coach running around with only 3 Qtrs of himself)!

The bit about acting like 8.3% wanting it scrapped was a big number was very confusing though. Strikes me as overwhelmingly popular based on that. Unless it was 8.3% want it scrapped and he rest want that too?
