From doing a bit of reading online the following players could potentially play for Germany. (Current/former NRL players).

Adam Quinlin
Tom Eisenhuth
Matt Eisenhuth
David Klemmer
Josh Drinkwater
Scott Drinkwater
Asu Kepaoa
G train possibly as assistant coach. Also Anthony Siebold played 1 game for Germany back in the day so maybe he’d want to jump on the coaching bandwagon also.

Rumours are that Dylan Brown, Toby Rudolf & the Leulia brothers also have some sort of German heritage. Which could make them eligible also. But don’t know how true that is.

Players with no real affiliation with the country, a country that has zero interest in the game.

Crock. Of. ****.

Reduce the number of teams in the World Cup, it's embarrassing.
This is 3 years from now, right? The criteria will have changed by then. If you’ve ever shopped at Aldi - you’re in.

No. Have a World Cup with 10 teams. The minnows can play off for two spots or whatever.
it doesnt really matter the format, australia belts the **** out of everyone anyway

they have won the last 3 on aggregate of 70-12 or 33.3 to 4

just play a tournament and the winners play australia

Another update on juniors in Qld... so you guys know what is coming down your way in a few years.

The QRL is running a state-wide carnival for u13 and u14 boys, and u14 and u16 girls this year. 2-3 teams from each region will take part (40-60 players) but they will not be rep teams. Any player who is registered in QRL and elects to join the program and do some extra training can take part.

*

When you take away rep footy from younger ages, there are always a bunch of people who whinge and say that they are taking away a great experience from their kids. The thing is, those people don't give a **** about the kids who weren't hand-picked to be there and won't ever have that experience. This new approach says that if you want to participate, and you commit to turning up to a 5-6 extra training sessions in the first half of the year, you're in. It removes "selectors" as a barrier for players to be able to participate at a higher level and against better competition.

What about combining the teams from the rest of the other countries?

France/Ireland/Greece/jamaica/USA/Wales/or whoever else qualifies.

How about a 6 nations end of year tour.

Australia
New Zealand
England
Tonga
Samoa

Combined - PNG, Fiji, Ireland, Greece, France, Wales, USA, Jamaica, Germany, Netherlands, Syria

You could make a pretty good bloody team if you combined all of them together.

So there's be one player from most of those countries? What would be the point?

If you just want great footy with the best players all the time I guess the NRL finals are your friend. But I think an inclusive international game has it's place and a bigger purpose than 100% edge of your seat action.

On the World Cup of (Ice) Hockey a few years ago they needed a 7th and 8th team after the big 6 so they added “Team North America” - an u23 team of USA and Canada combined and “Europe” - a team of players from outside the main 4 European nations.

Europe made the semis and the u23 team won 2 of 3 pools games (including beating USA) but missed the QF on F/A.

It was a really fun concept, but it would have been a bad look if either team had made it to the final.

For footy I’ve always liked the concept of “Rest of the world” or “Pacific Islands” teams being able to have some time to train together to take on the big 3. Just call the comp something else though. Don’t call it a World Cup.

I suppose these days though all you are really doing if you want more competitive teams is making some number of teams full of NRL players, and then adding England.

I’d actually be happy scratching England and seeing a 4 team comp of NRL only players…

Aus
NZ
Pacific Islands
RotW

NRL-based Poms play for RotW.
