Yeah I'd love to know what they want.

They want to see the NRL's books to make sure that the increase in salary cap is atleast same % of revenue generated by the game as it is currently.
Their belief is NRL's current proposed deal is a lesser percentage than they currently receive is my understanding

That and better funding for retired players who need medical support and other help as well as the money towards dev players outside top 30 are the main issues I believe.

I really do hope the salary cap push by the RLPA is mainly to bump up min wage blokes cause the average Joe 9-5 grinding it out day to day would love a nice salary bump right now but they will be lucky to get the CPI increase. If the high end salary NRL players think they should be getting a nice wage increase right now they are living in their own world not reality

Maybe NRL revenue is going up but so are costs and I fear it's the average punter that has to subsidize some of this ****. If it's CH9 forking out more for TV rights I would say I could care less but CH9 are so ****ing bad at promoting the game in a positive light or even doing things with competence commentary wise, they are embarrassing. Fox have their issues too. Guess they pay so much coin for the rights they feel they can do what the **** they want with it and treat it like a $2 slut

The whole short career thing is bs for the high end players, they earn in 10 years what takes regular folk more than a lifetime and plenty of peeps **** their bodies (and mind) up too in regular jobs

I cringe at how many **** inconsistent over hyped players earn $1 million - it's more than enough. It's Rugby League ffs not the NBA or EPL which have global reach and massive backings

We arn't really competing with Rugby anymore, Rugby is dying in this country. If they wanna go play Rugby overseas and fail well NRL should call their bluff - they will be back and if they arn't well they aint as important as they think they are. The sport and life will go on, they ain't that special.

NRL should put the players on the spot - we can increase the salary cap so some of you rich ****s can get richer and buy a bigger house or we can instead divert that money to grass roots footy, community beneficiaries and player welfare.

Sorry for the rant, but too many of these players come across as greedy shits. They have good lives but obviously not good enough. They just don't relise how good they have it already. Go work in an office or on the tools if it's so unfair though they probably too dopey to even manage that and need their hand held the whole way when they arn't bashing chics and pooping pillz in the dunnys that is lol

yes it's been a big week and rough at times, work my ass off like many of you

As for Refcliff I could almost see them winning a game within the first 2 rounds and the hype train going into overdrive and the media/NRL fapping about how great it is having another team and part of QLD represented only for them to go on and fail miserable on the season overall. I think they gunna struggle but it's a long term play, can't expect miracles in short term and we certainly don't wanna another Titans (which I don't think they will be)

Not to mention how if they use their money wisely just one big contract can set them up for life. They can then roll into any average paying job with no financial stress for the rest of their lives. It's the ones that choose to live like they'll earn that their whole lives that get into trouble.

Yea, it would be like complaining that you only win the lotto once a year

I've said it before but I would rather earn $3 Million in 5-10 years than grind it out for $5 Million over 50 years

The sooner you have the money the sooner you can do something with it and have it start earning for you and set yourself up that you shouldn't need a high paying job down the track - not to mention inflation, the value of that money in 50 years won't as valuable as it is right now today and you will also be alot older so possibly can't enjoy it as much.

If they want to live an extravagant lifestyle indefinitely then yea they will be a slave to money their whole life and be constantly obsessed with it

I reckon being a bit older than a lot of other inexperienced applicants probably gets overlooked quite often having NRL on the resume too

The lure of the big $$$ is what encourages younger players to take the chance to make the big time & put their bodies on the line -
so we can sit on the couch to watch while enjoying a beverage or screaming at the refs at the ground , so the TV stations & media can make mega bucks , so the NRL can make a hansome profit , so the coaches & medical staff are employed , so the clubs can put funds back into junior sport or the community , etc .

Sure we can get envious & upset when someone other than our favourite player gets a windfall contract , but I say go for it , as there is little complaint about other types of entertainers getting mega bucks .

Who’s that between jmo and wade

I'm gunna take a guess of Isaac Gordon

I think they mid 2000's to mid 2010's players

Robbo is looking pristine

Is the other bald bloke next to Gal Mitch Brown?

Far out I really hope Stapo will be ok and makes some good progress/recovery - breaks my heart

Good to see Gardner around, think he had a rough time a while back after leaving Sharks
