Redcliffe Dolphins (you could be forgiven thinking they were the KINGS based off that awful jersey) will play less in Redcliffe than Broncos turf & couch surf at a couple other places.

Soulless and no real home from the beginning.
As far as branding goes having a big front of jersey sponsor which can be confused for a name is definitely not ideal.
Ain't nobody ever though we were called the Aramex's
I guess they aren't really in a position to be choosey outside their best offer though.

Wonder if they will revert more games to Redcliffe after first season or two once they get a good idea what crowd numbers are like.
In saying that I just had a look and Redcliffe is only 10k seats (plus 1.5k standing) so it wouldn't be that outlandish if they can start stringing together some results that they need to use Suncorp quite often still to meet demand.

Agree, it doesn't seem like a great way to start.

But they cld really expand that ground/facilities to/over the Adjoining fields to the nth west, pending better drainage.

It's a balance. "The Dolphins" will make more money at Suncorp, but the Redcliffe Leagues Club will make way more money if games are played there. Since they own the venue, the NRL has to pay them to use it - and then they run their own catering and bar, set the prices, and keep the profits. A beer at MDS is half the price on one at Suncorp.

Supposedly some more draw leaks from the tele. Take it with a grain of salt.

That gives us:

Round 1 - Souths
Round 2 - Parra
Round 3 ?
Round 4 - Dragons

* Also Penrith having the bye in Rd 3 means we get our first month at least without it which is a win.

No more than 5. Probably less.

7 games are confirmed at Suncorp, and they have said they want to play games in regional areas (Sunny Coast, Rocky). I guess it is possible that Magic Round is an away game, so it could end up being 7 Suncorp + 4 Redcliffe + 2 elsewhere.

Lose first 6 games and them playing at Suncorp will resemble a Roosters home game
3000 spectators.

Why the **** do they do this? Why can't they just release the draw in full when it's ready? Why all this cat and mouse stuff?
Bloody hell it annoys me. No offence to you at all PS. :)

I assume clubs haven't been allowed to release anything yet, but a few people have tipped of elements to reporters. Then the Tele obviously want to generate those clicks.

Given Fox Sports = News Ltd, the Tele knows what the draw is.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't release it all if they had it. Unless two articles are better than one? You're probably right though. There are no secrets in the NRL.

In related news, because the Dolphins are playing at Suncorp, it meant they were not able to accommodate as many concerts as they had hoped, and Harry Styles was not able to play in Brisbane.

On behalf of the city of Brisbane I would like to extend my thanks to everyone at the Dolphins for making this happen.

Also they’ve got to work around the Women’s World Cup in July and August.

Would they play many of their games at Suncorp? Can't see crowds being big.

8 games. More than any other Australian stadium. They get the playoff for third but the final is in Sydney. Bigger capacity.

NZ gets 2 quarter finals and one semi.

Good call. FIFA are also much more demanding than the NRL on Stadium facilities (wifi, secure access for corporates, etc.). Suncorp is in the throws of a massive WiFi upgrade - in part to meet those demands. That work needs to be done around the events that are happening, while still maintaining existing services for those events. They are a pretty busy mob in there.

Your going to be surprised. Tickets are already on sale for a lot of the games and they’re being snapped up fast from all over the world. People might sneer at this because its “Womens” tournament, but make no mistake, this tournament is a massive and well supported in International football in general and its huge for the game down here that we’re hosting it.

You bet im going to try to go to some of the Matilda’s games, or even some of the neutral games depending on location, my eldest will be 5 by then and she’s already taking an interest in the sport.

Yeah sorry for some reason didn't realise it was soccer. Agree, crowds should be good.
