Late Mail: The Sharks are âsitting on the fenceâ over the fitness of Connor Tracey with The Daily Telegraphâs David Riccio revealing Will Kennedy could be parachuted into the team at fullback. Tracey has been named to start against the Roosters but is battling a knee injury sustained in Round 27. Should Tracey be ruled out, it could mean a shock early return for Kennedy who was slated to make his comeback from a hamstring injury in the second week of finals, should the Sharks progress. Fellow Daily Telegraph journalist Michael Carayannis told NRL 360 who will play fullback is âstill a bit up in the air,â but revealed thereâs âslight confidenceâ Tracey may be cleared to play. âConnor Tracey completed some of the session today, Will Kennedy completed about half the session so theyâre going to give Tracey up to captainâs run,â he said. âTheyâve got the day off tomorrow so there is a slight confidence Connor Tracey will play and Will Kennedy is progressing nicely as well.â
Late Mail: Star centre Joey Manu is tracking well to return from a hamstring injury, but still needs to get through Fridayâs training session, according to Roosters coach Trent Robinson. âWell he couldnât play last week so he is better than last week,â Robinson said. âHe tried to train last week, but he couldnât get there. This week he has had one good session already and he needs to nail the final session today and move a bit faster and test that today and then get ready for tomorrow.â
