If you have the time, check out the pre-match discussion of this game on the Broncos forum. They've already got 17 pages up.

Most of the idiots on there are saying things like our forwards are bog average and we can't pull off that sort of game again, that Staggs will sort out Talakai and that we are likely to take them easy.

Then there are the sensible ones who don't give their own team much of a chance, saying we are a genuine top four team, saying how they all can't stand Gamble either and would love to belt him if he played against them.

One thing they did say about Gamble was him targeting Jesse and riling him up. This would probably work, not many other players in our team get riled up more than Jesse. Perhaps Ronnie as well.

Here you go, fun reading:

Haha I was also thinking those two are likely to have each other by the collar at some stage

I think Broncos played well against a poor Bulldogs team.
Yes theyll be buoyed by that win, plus narrowly missing out to a vastly underperforming Roosters team the week before.
But this is a Broncos team that was beaten comfortably by both Warriors and Cowboys.
If we play to our strengths we win comfortably i feel
I feel the same way.

They put up a good second half last week and they might get over-confident about that whereas we had a terrible second half and I am sure that is addressed this week.

If we play to our strengths and respect the opposition, we will win this comfortably.

I love hope they sometimes go off-topic so much that you can skip 5 pages without them talking about the game at all.

From Fox:

Early Mail: Wade Graham trained without incident on Tuesday and is expected to come into Craig Fitzgibbon’s starting side.

So Wilton to the bench and Williams drops out?
I think by starting side, they mean the top 17 that starts the match including the bench. I honestly cannot see how he would be thrust into the top 13 starting line up.

Edit: Just saw the full article on NRL.com late mail. Don't agree with that if it happens, but I am not the coach of course!

The other thing I am thinking is that I cannot recall in any of our left side plays in the first half against Manly, that Wilton got the ball instead of Talakai. Wilton always ran the decoy. Only exception was when he scored his try but that was not a typical sweeping movement.

So, I know it has some risk in it but if you are Staggs, you are ready for the ball to go to Talakai every time. Might make it easier for Wilton or Wade depending on who starts but that decoy runner always seems to be covered if they get the ball.

Bort or Burgo, help me out here please!!

It wouldn't be like the late mail to be wrong...

I haven't paid that much attention, does Fitzy like to play ducks and drakes? Should know more tonight when the squads get reduced.

I'd be surprised to see him in starting 13 but a good sign of the confidence in him.

I think it’s more about rotations wade won’t go 80 I wouldn’t think. so Wilton younger faster coming on when things open up makes sense. Fitz seems to have sprinkled a little magic over everyone in our team no reason to think he hasn’t clearly defined to wade his job in the team game. I just don’t get the weird amount of wade hate…

Think its to do with his limited games over past 3 years
2019 - played 10 games
2020 - played 19 games
2021 -played 11 games
2022 - missed first 7 rounds

We're not getting bang for buck with the coin hes on, and hes hasnt set the world on fire with his performances even when he has played

This will be our first match under Ashley Klein this year. I could be wrong but I don't recall us having much luck under him in the past.
