Last regular round of the season.

As in the last few games, should be a cakewalk on paper. Knights are not playing well, have little confidence and could not beat a Titans side last week who were down to 12 men in the second half with 30 minutes still to go.

But we still need to get the job done. Do we rest any of our men? And if so, who?

At the moment, for and against doesn't really matter, a win cements 2nd place for us and a home final.

Only rest those with niggles or not fully recovered.
So maybe Dale rests to heal those ribs a bit more.

A lot of the side has had time out fairly recently so I'd be inclined to keep as strong a side as possible on the field. That and the soft run home means we should use this as a way to play into form.

I'm expecting to see something a bit more like finals footy this week. I don't think we can hit the first week with our attack the way it is at the moment.

Maybe not rest people unless they’ve got a niggle like Dale because last week showed that there still is a lot of fine tuning needed before the finals, but if things are going well in the game I’d like to see Brailey given reduced minutes to freshen him up a bit and give McInnes some time at 9 just to sharpen him a bit just in case he needs to play there in the finals in an emergency.

Also maybe give Moylan or Hynes (preferably Moylan as he’s more fragile and Hynes is in the running for the Dally M) an early mark on the 60 minute mark and give Trindall some time in the halves, again just sharpen him up a bit and play it safe with one of the halves.

Apart from that, I’d play everyone if they’re fully 100%.

I agree, some extra polish wouldn't go astray.

The only random I'd look at bringing in is Berrell as I still think wouldn't hurt for him to have tasted NRL just in case he should be needed. Give him last bench spot and give Brailey a spell with 20-30 to go (so Berrell can have a run).
If we feel we need to keep Brailey on I'm sure Berrell can do 10 mins at 13 instead.

Good rewards for a good season with jets and re-signing too

Otherwise I'd pick the best 17 players available minus anyone who would get a definite benefit from a week off.
Bench McInnes if Dale is back and Tolman falls out.
Tracey or Ikuvalu in for Iro.
If there are one, two, maybe three others who would get a big benefit from a week off then we have options like Ikuvalu/Iro/Trindall/Colquhoun/Hazelton available.

With the finals next week i would be putting my best possible team on the park to fine tune their game and make sure last week was just a small hiccup .

At this time of year training is for fine tuning. Rest the players who need it so they are fresh. You want a fresh side coming up against a fatigued cowboys or storm from some tough games. Being fresh and keeping guys healthy is the number one priority with a top 4 finish locked in.

Really?
And run the risk of missing 2nd spot?

Would you not rather throw everyone in, aim for cohesion, and get confidence sky high with a 60 point thrashing

Would also like to see Kennedy, Rudolf, Katoa and Finucane get some minutes if avaliable

We ain’t missing second spot. That team will beat the knights. Our jets team could beat the knights. Imo it ain’t worth risking our main players to injury.

If Cowboys beat Panthers we have to play our best squad available against the Knights no ifs or buts - the benefit we would get from resting a couple players would pale in comparison to the colossal **** up not locking down 2nd spot from here would be and it could well derail our finals campaign just as it is starting

Fitz might be inexperienced but he isn't operating like that's the case and has been around coach Robinson a long time and seen how things work. Fitz is no mug he will do the right thing. If we are up by a large margin in the last 20 mins or whatever he can give some regular players bit of an early rest and if we lose a bit of control of the game from there he can put them back on

As for the Knights, it will be great if it's us giving them one last humiliation of another miserable season for them, their biggest loss of 2022 would be nice - something for them to take into the off season to remind them how crap a club they are.

They are actually far more likable without Pearce & Pinga in the team though.

Gagai, Edrick, Dom Young, Brailey, Friz - I have time for those blokes

With added bonus of winning on their Old Boys Day.

I would name a healthy 17 players, and then hook our 6, 7, 9 and 13 pre-game if the Cowboys lose.

1. Miller
2. Tracey (Iro)
3. Ramien
4. Talakai
5. Mulitalo
6. Moylan
7. Hynes
8. Uele
9. Brailey
10. Hunt
11. Nikora
12. Graham
13. Finucane
-
14. Wilton
15. Tolman
16. Fifita
17. McInnes
-
18. Dykes / Metcalf —> Moylan
19. Trindall —> Hynes
20. Berrell —> Brailey
21. Colquhoun —> Finucane
