Anyone other than Tigers I would be uncomfortable with Miller on wing.

It was obvious after he went off last Sat night that we missed Tracy's go-forward on the early tackles in a set , same as Katoa provided.

Whilst Miller's speed is great , do think Ikavalu a better overall option on the wing with Tracey out to give us the early thrush into the line which we missed last week.

But happy for Miller to prove me wrong v Tigers
Not sure how much Miller has played / trained on the wing. He will no doubt get plenty of practice at training this week so should be all the better for it.

Don't mind if Miller plays wing but it's probably just an easy team sheet because he hasn't decided on the center, and Ikuvalu will play wing. Hopefully...

What does everyone think of the Tigers side that was named?

Is what it is - if they had better players available they would name them, just like any other club.

Their bench is bargain basement but they do have a sprinkling of a couple good players (Tuilagi, Tamou, Doueihi, Kepaoa) but overall on balance of team vs team shouldn't be enough to worry us.

Tigers have been having a real crack the last few months and have been good to watch - they have played some good footy.

If they didn't have key outs like Hastings ect they would have given our depleted side a run for its money but knowing us they prob still will

We prob get out to a comfortable lead in first 35 minutes but end up only winning by 8 points or something with the Tigs coming back at us and Sharks making as many errors and penalties as possible to ensure it happens lol - oh this game starts late and will go into night time, yea we gunna make some blues for sure.

Coach - CRAIG FITZGIBBON - Sponsored by Aramex

Great to see we have stuck with Fitz as our coach in that line up.
He has been doing a fair job and deserves to keep his spot.
Conflict of interest - nepotism at the highest level

Really surprised by the Miller selection over Ikavalu - hope it works out …

Dykes was shakey at times last week so maybe Miller is there to potentially interchange with Dykes @ FB if required. Dunno how Dykes goes on the wing but would think he could manage it.

Cause it seems surprising for Ikavalu to have fallen down the pecking order behind Miller. Ikavalu has played fairly well for us and has alot more experience but Fitz does make some bold surprising selections at times and I know he puts alot of stock into how a player is training / pre-season / attitude ect.

I havn't got much insight to how Ikavalu stacks up against Miller in this regard in terms of training, reggies performances, fitness ect. but if Fitzy has made the call then he thinks its for the best.

I’ve read this jargon about Dykes a fair bit on here.

Can anyone pinpoint or explain to me these moment he looked “shaky”?

Dykes shakey??? I'm not sure what game you were watching Gards, Dykes was anything other than shakey in my opinion. If anyone was shakey it was Miller.

Maybe Gards was watching on his phone. Sometimes in I find it hard keeping the phone still whilst yelling at the screen.

Maybe he meant “wobbly” right on halftime when Bird smacked him in the head in the ingoal area.

They didn’t really kick a ball to Dykes on the full.

He nearly had 2 trys. Would like to see what everyone would be saying if he got them.

Forget who it was, but one pass to him was a shocker, he was in exact the right spot supporting, and clear imho.

Only real error was when he dropped the ball in the tackle... apart from that, it looked like there were some communication issues with Miller on a couple of bombs, which I don't you can pin on him.

Otherwise, I though he was real solid.

Yeah from memory the ball was more Millers, I think a few people in here said the same thing.

Yep. He had two more errors in addition to the one you mentioned and one was off a woeful pass from Hynes and the other off a stinker from Ronaldo.

Pass was bad from Ronaldo but Dykes was crowding him, no reason not to move another meter or so away and fall another step behind. He looked like he was cruising maybe he can't go slow enough to fall behind. Not saying it wasn't also a bad pass as it was, I just think he could have positioned himself better off it. The pass aside even if Ronnie did pass clean he's passing because he has a defender right on him, you don't need to be that close to the one defender too.

If he did have two tries I'd be saying it was a wonderful debut.
He didn't though, so it is just a promising debut.

Most promising was that he was in position for there to be a chance I reckon. Really good signs for a first hitout.
Was really vocal too. There was a shot as they were getting ready for the opening kickoff where he was giving everyone a good long talking to... didn't look like anyone was paying much attention but the intent was good from the kid :)
