Seems a lot of big guns not firing has opened the door for a few underdogs to shake up the cup. Ronaldo benched, Kane making what sounded like his first big error... Messi has been fairly quiet by his lofty standards (though is probably saving the best for last).

Interesting to see who the new big names will be. The kids were gaga over Messi and Ronaldo before the cup started.

Yep, that Jersey is iconic. Like Jordans Bulls singlet. Especially with Maradona beforehand.

Absolutely incredible performance. He will need to repeat it again if France qualify though. If he does, would that be the GOAT individual performance at a world cup? He has been everything to Argentina.

To this day, nothing tops Maradona's performance against England for me. In my book, Maradona is the all time GOAT - nobody even compares to him and that includes Ronaldo and Messi.

I watched the game and it looked to me like Argentina outclassed Croatia from the very start.

Lots of good performers. I think they would have been better than Croatia even without Messi.
