Fifi seems to be back in full training after tearing his calf playing in carnival.
Latest pics show both Talakai and Brailey doing straight line running. Talakai shoulder heavily strapped.

Some updates after round 1:

Top 30

Bomber was asked about Chad hurting his ankle in the first half and said Chad should be fine
Hunt is hopeful for round 2, probable for round 3
Talakai is hopeful for round 2, probable for round 3
Johnson estimated back in another 6-7 weeks
Hiroti was 18th man for NRL

Players outside the top 30

Metcalf did not play NSW Cup (was replaced by Manaia Rudolph). No reason was given, but injury is a possibility
Ferris sustained a foot injury and didn’t return after half time
Willy Williams was not named and didn’t play. No update
Milne was 18th man for Newtown

Guessing he'll come in for Ramien should he cop a suspension.

Willy Willams still listed a TBC return date from throat injury I think.
Metcalf I think was named in halves for Jets so Trindall dropping back may have bumped him but you'd think he'd hold a spot still, so I guess some kind of injury concern. Think there'd be a spot on bench if not halves or fullback given his trial form.

Yeah - Willy is listed as out indefinitely. Just added him so the list was comprehensive.

Metcalf would 100% have held his position ahead of Rudolph or Tuha.

And you'll think Trindall, Nene and Tieg at the minimum will go back. Fifita - not sure what the plan is for him.

Think typically one player will stay with NRL as 18th man, so likely Tieg or Nene I guess wouldn't go back to Jets.

Apparently Ferris fractured foot so could be a while, anything from 4-12ish weeks depending on location of fracture

Serious question... any sign of Chad? The ankle was a bit of a concern, and we're down to Trindall or Tracey to step in if he's out

Usually people are praying for a Chad injury!

Looks fine in the pics, no visible taping of ankle but does have socks pulled up (just normal socks not footy socks so might have been able to see tape above them if there was some).

There's a photo where it looks like he is talking to Hiroti and Nikora about where he wants them (or talking to Hiroti with Nikora listening in)

He's in the pictures. No red bib. Bomber says he was fine.

Bomber unsure about Ronaldo, says Dugan failed HIA but next game is 7 days away so he has time to pass if all good.
Bomber also says Talakai will beat back Hunt and Johnson, is ‘a couple of weeks away’ so hopefully available round 6

Ramien off suspension next week, Nikora round 6

I was hanging out for when we were back to full strength but Katoa and now Ronnie’s injuries have scuppered that.

Even when SJ, Hunt and Talakai are back we’ll still be without at least Katoa. So who’s the man to replace him full time. Hiroti? Tracey?
